This was taken from the Youth Rights forum..
Hi, this is my first post. I have been reading a lot of posts about Ivy Ridge. My son was just expelled from Ivy Ridge a week ago. They said it was because he was uncooperative and threated to run and threatened to start a riot. I don't know if that is true or not. Right now my son is in a Mental Health Hospital. When he got home, he was in very bad shape mentally. He was hallucinating, confused, hearing voices, etc. He was not like that when he went there!! He was there less than 3 months. I don't know if he was abused, he is talking about how they were brainwashing him. He is afraid to eat food given to him, because he thinks stuff is put in it. I don't know what to think. He doesn't seem to have any bruises, but they could have faded. I think he is afraid to talk. He did ask me where he was, and was he in Jamaica. I think they may have threatened to send him to Tranquility Bay. I had no idea until he came home that the school was under investigation.

That's what the program does to people... it either brainwashes them into thinking they were "saved", inflicts emotional scars that will take decades to heal, or pushes them over the edge.
The WWASP cult must be destroyed. It must be brought down so that no one will have to end up like that poor kid. So that no one will have to suffer the extreme abuse and stress inflicted in the name of "tough love".

It would be nice if there was a way to contact this mom -

Try PMing her on the Youth Rights forum.

This after only 3 months.. imagine your kid after 18 months or even 24- because that's the more typical length of stay. No trace of your child personality will remain, guaranteed!

First off I would like say why in the hell would you send your child away to a place that YOU hadn't throughly investigated yourself. If you had you would have been aware of this fact and could have addressed it with either your admissions coordinator or your marketer. I am parent too and would never send my child some where that I wasn't completely comfortable with. It is also quite obvious that you had no trust what so ever with you family rep. It really sounds to me like your son is really playing it up for you now that he is home. He wants you to feel guilty for sending him away. Didn't you attend any seminars? That is one of the first things that you should have learned in Discovery. I bet you didn't send your some to AIR because she always told you the truth, right? I honestly think that you should stay out of chat sites like this one, it only adds fuel to a fire that is already out of control. What I would urge you to do is contact the local police department and find out more information about these so called investigations. I know for a fact they have been up to the school several times and very time the allegations have been unfounded. I really think twice before I trusted your son with anything he has to say. I know you want to but in the end I think that you and I both know nothing happened!

Bottom line....stay away from people who tell you they can save your kids, help your kids, love your kids or anything else BETTER than YOU can. Do NOT pay strangers to do what YOU alone can do for your kids..or to recommend anyone else to do so. Ed Cons/Markerers/Family Reps or whatever the fuck you want to call them are nothing more than middle men for an out of control and un-necessary industry.
When he [Califano] claims that the voters of Arizona and California did not know what they were voting for when they supported the two initiatives, he reminds me of the way Serbia's President Slobodan Milosevic reacted to recent election results in that country.

I personally strongly diagree w/u. I graduated after 24 months and i have plenty of my personality. I am very successful and making things out of my life. About the thing that the ivy ridge mom said, that is her own kids problem, plently of kids in the world hallucinate and junk w/o even hearing about CSA. And they do not abuse u, i was in Costa Rica and CSA, and the allegations that people are making are crazy!!! They do not abuse you, and no one has ever been killed, the only reason that the kid asked if he was in Jamaica is b/c they do say if u do not behave then u go there b/c that has higher security if people are to run. So beleive what u want, but i can guarentee that in the end, we who learn will have lifes and not be pathetic, drug abusing, drunk, screwed up wackos like most of the world is

duh they cant love their kids better. They never say that they can do these things, they just say that they can help intervene in kids destructive behaviors by giving them tools that they can choose or not choose to use, They dont guarentee any change, they just try to help people stop screwing up their lives.

Bullshit. The choice given to kids is not whether to "use" the "tools" they are given (what tools? How to bear pain? How to rip into and humiliate their peers? how to make up war stories that are extreme enough to satisfy the staff during seminars? these are the only tools learned in WWASP facilities, really). Their only choice is whether to bear the abuse, and keep thier mind and sanity intact, or whether to submit to the cult, and be brainwashed into a "the holy program saved my life!" zombie.

Yeah..... you sound like a program brochure. If you think sending your child away is what all the 'good' parents are doing... umm.. someone should clue you in. Reality check

So then, it's really not a very successful program, then? The German Nazis and the Russian Communists came very close to us in their methods, but they never had the courage to recognize their own motives. The object of persecution is persecution. The object of torture is torture. The object of power is power.

"like most of the world is"
That's a very telling quote.
They actually got you to believe that *most* people in the world have no life, and are pathetic, drunk, "screwed up wackos."
This doesn't reflect what I've seen in life at all.
The lady across the street is a realtor, another guy across the street owns a grounds maintenance business (does corporate landscaping), another guy across the street is a contractor. (Our home, which we own, is on a corner and is on a big lot--there's a lot of "across the street.")
(I'm skipping the information about our family, because I don't want to make this about us.)
I suppose someone could say that we're insulated from the majority of "drunk, screwed up wackos" by our socioeconomic class, but I graduated college into a recession and spent several years pretty darned poor. Most of the other poor people I knew, and people at various intermediate stages on the way up, (and people in higher socioeconomic brackets than our family), were neither drunks nor "screwed up wackos" and definitely had lives.
I've known a few drunks, a few casual drug users, a few *genuine* recovering alcoholics or drug addicts, a few "screwed up wackos", and a few people who really did have no life.
They weren't the majority---unless you consider merely beeing poor to be a social sin.
It has often seemed to me that one of the worst problems of Program Parents (and the Programs play to this) is that they quietly consider being poor to be just as bad as deadorinjail and being poor is the fate they're really trying to "protect" their kid from.
So perhaps when you label people "screwed up wackos with no life" you *are* including people who are simply poor.
I don't know whether you are or not.
I do know that most of the kids in my high school--a lot---who were "troubled teens" didn't end up deadorinjail. They mostly did end up poor. Of course, a fair few of the people who weren't "troubled teens" ended up poor, too.
I do know that to get anywhere near a majority of humanity in your big pool of screwed up wackos with no life you'd have to include a whole lot of people for no other sin than being poor and being either disabled or unable and uninterested in acquiring better job skills.
Program Parents tend to be horrible snobs, even though they'd deny it. The Programs play to that snobbery---implying that if your kid graduates the Program he or she *may* even go on to the Ivy League.
The snobbery is implicit when the Program is compared to the price of a new Lexxus and presented as, "Isn't your kid worth a car?"
Most people consider that *five times* the cost of a down payment on a house.
Whatever else you came out of Ivy Ridge with, you didn't come out with a very accurate or compassionate view of your fellow man.

My name is Elena and I am the sister of a kid expelled from Ivy because of the riot. I would like to urge parents of children expelled to contact me so we can, together, file a law suit against the school. My brother was already contacted by a lady from Child Services who gave him a lawyer to contact. My e-mail is sculy_bg@yahoo.com The sooner we act, the sooner we can find justice! The school played with our children's lives and it lied to us about the diploma's!

The lady I mentioned is from CAICA (Coalition Against Institutionalized Child Abuse)

Also didn't come out with much of an education. Pretty damn pitiful writing, for the $100,000 the parents spent.
