Peninsula Village / PV Censoring Google's "Street View"?
« on: December 13, 2008, 02:27:58 PM »
Google Maps was updated a little while back, and they added the PV peninsula in Street View. About a week ago I was giving it all a good looking over, when I noticed this:

Yep, that looks like an outdoor group walking to the YC!

I heard Google did another mass upload of Street View data, so yesterday I checked their coverage on the peninsula. Didn't find anything new, but when I went to get another look at the walking patients.. THEY WERE GONE. Rather than simply blurring out certain "personal" aspects of the image (although that appeared to have already been done), it looks like Google deleted the whole frame! See for yourself - they were visible from only one spot, in the intersection of Jones Bend Road and W Lakeview Circle (Here). It skips from one side of the intersection to the other since the frame was deleted.

Peninsula Village / (11-22-08) Protesting PV Again! -Raleigh,NC-
« on: October 29, 2008, 08:45:08 PM »
The first PV protest on September 27 went very well, and this one should be even better- there will be a few more attending this time, and Che was kind enough to send me a better camera to document everything.
This upcoming protest on November 22nd will again be in front of the RDU Country Inn & Suites at 201 Airgate Dr Morrisville NC 27560 from 8:30am to 12:30pm while PV has their parent's meeting inside.
Parking is available right nextdoor at the I-40 Park & Fly lot for $7.00, let them know you won't need a shuttle.
Bring your own signs, but they should be no larger than 24in x 24in or have metal supports/handles.
Feel free to PM /email me with any questions, or just discuss here.

Peninsula Village / 9-27-08 PV Protest! (Raleigh)
« on: August 21, 2008, 07:13:21 PM »
Well, probably.

Peninsula Village holds "family support workshops" every other month at the RDU Country Inn and Suites at 201 Airgate Dr. Morrisville, NC and the next one is scheduled for the morning of September 27th.
According to my research, although the mailing address of the Country Inn and Suites is listed as in Morrisville, that area actually falls under the jurisdiction of the Cary PD. Cary city code defines permit-required protests as having more than four protesters. A person with the Cary PD that I spoke with believed that a recent Supreme Court ruling now prevents them from requiring permits for any protests, but wasn't certain about this.
One Cary regulation that I came across is that any signs cannot be larger that 24x24 inches. It is also against NC law to possess or have access to any object capable of inflicting serious bodily injury within 500 feet of any protest. This restricts any supports or handles for signs to nonmetallic materials no larger than 3.5in by 1in.
All of these rules will be abided by, and all other laws will also be followed.
Here's the schedule for PV's parent group:
-9:00 a.m. Coffee/light breakfast
-9:15 a.m. Education
-10:15 a.m. Break
-10:30 a.m. Support group
-Noon adjourn
If anyone wants to help out or can attend, please either post in this thread or send me a PM letting me know. Hopefully everything will work out this time!
