Who Am I Discovery/Whitmore / Religious Extremism: A Parenting Style

If they're really LDS, they would follow the laws in their religion, too. And one of those is preventing harm towards children. So, they must be lying about their religion.

Although I'm not a Mormon, I do know what the religion is about, have attended the church services many times, and have friends who are Mormon. Believe me, I found out all I could about it on both sides of the story, and it does have good teachings and a wonderful influence, including behavior towards children. One can see that just by looking at how the members live their lives.

Since you posted this on the Whitmore forum, I'm going to suppose you meant to relate it to the school, since it is Christian-based. I'll have you know that the form of Christianity it is based upon is LDS, and they believe strongly in families, being kind to children, and never harming them. And they do not take the Bible literally.

If you don't believe me, have a talk with the bishop at your local LDS church. They'll tell you straight up what it's about.

I'm talking with "a bunch of middle-aged folk who have no life" because I feel like it. I'm a kid. I can do things I feel like doing. And when I'm an adult, you can bet I won't be sitting around on a forum, because there will be way more important things for me to do. I'm bored, got it? Drama is exciting and there is a ton right here.

Cheryl doesn't even go to this site. And I don't know why you think I'm that kid, because I'm not... I knew her for a while, and I might've known you too if you tell me who you are. But my name is Angelina, as I've previously stated.

Yes, I'm a teen. Seventeen, actually, and maybe I sound older because the majority of my postings are conversation and proving points intelligently, and not just throwing insults (although I admit I do that in a few). I believe this place is for conversation and debate, not an elementary playground fight.

Also, one last thing. I care to know briefly about the workings of PURE because they're the ones who referred my mom to the Whitmore, and I like to know how that worked. I learn about things going on around me because not to seek that knowledge would be, in my opinion, naive and ignorant.[ This Message was edited by: mouse on 2005-06-17 14:03 ]

The whole internet is "unsafe". Just about anything having to do with it. If you're paranoid about people finding out who you are and where you are, don't use it.

Maybe this is news to you or something?

"It is painfully obvious who posts anonymously on this message board. It is quite simple to research the patterns - even easier, see what IP address a message comes from.

It's also quite clear to see who is involved with the 3 runaway boys.  While 2 have been found, one is still missing.  Any way you look at it, he's a minor and someone will face criminal charges.  The surprise? It probably won't be Whitmore Academy. Quite frankly, one could look back on the postings and find a motive. Premeditation?

It's quite difficult to find any individual posting frantically on these message boards "credible".

Especially if that person has a long history of questionable recreational activities - and with pictures as proof. It's amazing what you can find on the internet.

What, are you a bunch of middle-aged women chatting with troubled teenagers? Get a life!

What goes around, comes around.

I was waiting for someone to say something along those lines. Thank you, whoever you are.

As I stated earlier, I've spoken with Sue and I consider her a fairly intelligent woman. An honest one, as well. Maybe I assume too much, and need to do a background check or something.   But I suppose I have a right to my opinion, as you do to yours.

You know what, little girl, you don't know half of what you think you know.  Buying tickets, giving money to someone is not against the law.  Besides, where the boys prisoniers at Whitmore?  It's just an academic boarding school.  Right?"

I think both Sarah and I have already stated that it says in the contract the school has a little less than half custody of the kid while they're enrolled here. So they still ran from legal guardians, for no reason. The truth will come out when (as I'm sure they will) the media interviews the boys who ran. They ran because they got bored. Just watch.

And I already went to the beach, last month actually, to whoever said that. And yes, it was fun. You should try it.[ This Message was edited by: mouse on 2005-06-14 18:18 ]

Feed Your Head / Sleepers, by Lorenzo Carcaterra
« on: June 14, 2005, 09:12:00 PM »
Sleepers by Lorenzo Carcaterra is about four boys growing up in city streets, then getting sent to Wilkinson Home for Boys, an abusive juvenile detention center. There are four guards especially cruel to them, and over a decade later the boys get their revenge. It's pretty cool, takes place in New York. It's also a movie, although I haven't seen it. But the book is great. Really inspiring.

I talked to her about the way it operates, as well. Since she helps run the thing, I trust she knows what she's talking about. Maybe that's naive, but why would she lie about it to some kid, anyway? There'd be no point, so assuming she has at least a fraction of a brain, I trust her word on the operations of PURE.

If you read my post again, I was telling granny to ask Leah some things she should know about her granddaughter. I wasn't asking her things about Leah. If I wanted to know anything, I'd go straight to her, not her family.

I really doubt I could break Leah's records on inflicting harm on kids at Whitmore. But you're right, neither of us are running a school for teens.

I've talked to Sue before. Not regularly, but I have talked to her and do know what she does.

And whoever said my name is Caitlyn, it's not; it's Angelina, thank you. I don't know who you are, so I don't know if I knew you or not. Sorry for any confusion.

Cheryl doesn't tell people's "family secrets", just so you know. What I know about Leah, I heard straight from her own mouth, and I'm sure it's the same for Caitlyn, too. Leah loved pulling everyone into her little pity parties.

Maybe he's just tired of her stabbing him in the back, OK?  Get it?

So shut up Caitlyn girlie."

You're right, Rob can have his music and no, he doesn't have to be controlled by anyone. He is his own person, and I respect Rob for that. However, I think those comments about Cheryl were unneccesary.

Oh, by the way, I love how you think you got me figured out. But it amuses me that you don't.

"YOU trying to say Whitmore is a REAL SCHOOL gets pretty old too!!!

But just like Cheryl got charged with child abuse.....

The authorities of Utah will take care of the ACCREDITATION of that little PRETEND SCHOOL and false transcript too.

Later, we will come back here and post:

 "TOLD YOU SO."   OK?

"

Okay by me, since (1) that will never happen, and (2) you're obviously immature enough to do so if it did.

I've seen the forms proving Whitmore is accredited. The teachers are real teachers with real degrees, who teach in real classrooms and give kids real assignments, which they really do and get real grades, and in turn they end up with real credits, leading to a real diploma.

Wow, amazing how that works, huh?
