Does anyone remember an animated you-tube clip on the topic of behavior modification / brain washing - might have been about public education - might have more explicitly about brain washing. twaz simple line drawings in black and white? I know I've seen it - and I am next to certain it was posted on Fornits somewhere - but long ago. I can't find it.

The following is an Obama supporter's blog.  I ran across it looking to see if the whitehouse insider had anything new up. I found this interesting.

White House Insider: Obama’s New Age? The Sun God Rise!

Image via Wikipedia

After long terrible rule of George Walker Bush the times have changed significantly.

Many times in the history different scientists, historians, theologists, politicians and philosophers were talking about “the coming of a new age”…

Now it’s year 2011. and we can say that the time of the new Aeon has come!

Recent events in the USA and in the rest of the world all point to the same conclusion;

We are approaching New Age, New Aeon.

Biblical scholars together with Jewish, Muslim and other theologists all agree that universal time of peace and brotherhood; new age without crime, disease and poverty is approaching and that Obama (Sun God) is to play key role in the political and scientific transition from the age of pain to the age of Peace.

First time in history we have a President who is more than just a president of a USA, he is a leader of the world and he will probably unite the world in the never ending fight against evil tyranny of powerful corporations and interest group.

Yes, Barack Obama is just a servant, he is not the all powerful ruler of the planet Earth… For now…

Husein Obama will break his chains eventually, like Horus, he will rise beyond the simple comprehension and help the world to accept new values, new rules for the new Aeon.

What do you think, is US President Barack Obama the leader who will introduce New World Order to the Nations of the Earth?

From a Christian perspective this kind of language is extremely concerning - but it ought to be concerning to anyone with any understanding of history.  Why does the left tend so strongly to creating "messiahs"?

I recently read Ann Colters newest book b/c I understood it was well researched and footnoted and dealt with a good deal of history which I have always found interesting. I didn't agree with all she had to say and I wish she was less snarky, but she did in fact make several very valid points. This blog is a perfect example of one of her major points: Democrats like to create god-like personas for their political leaders and often use worshipful language in describing them and will become enraged at moderate and fully truthful criticism of them. You simply don't see anything like this from the right.

Justice Officials in 'Panic Mode' as Hearing Nears on Failed Anti-Gun Trafficking Program

By William La Jeunesse

Published June 10, 2011

| FoxNews.com

Officials at the Department of Justice are in "panic mode," according to multiple sources, as word spreads that congressional testimony next week will paint a bleak and humiliating picture of Operation Fast and Furious, the botched undercover operation that left a trail of blood from Mexico to Washington, D.C.

The operation was supposed to stem the flow of weapons from the U.S. to Mexico by allowing so-called straw buyers to purchase guns legally in the U.S. and later sell them in Mexico, usually to drug cartels.

Instead, ATF documents show that the Bureau of Alcohol Tobacco and Firearms knowingly and deliberately flooded Mexico with assault rifles. Their intent was to expose the entire smuggling organization, from top to bottom, but the operation spun out of control and supervisors refused pleas from field agents to stop it.

Only after Border Patrol Agent Brian Terry died did ATF Agent John Dodson blow the whistle and expose the scandal.

"What people don't understand is how long we will be dealing with this," Dodson told Fox News back in March. "Those guns are gone. You can't just give the order and get them back. There is no telling how many crimes will be committed before we retrieve them."

But now the casualties are coming in.

Mexican officials estimate 150 of their people have been shot by Fast and Furious guns. Police have recovered roughly 700 guns at crime scenes, 250 in the U.S. and the rest in Mexico, including five AK-47s found at a cartel warehouse in Juarez last month.

A high-powered sniper rifle was used to shoot down a Mexican military helicopter. Two other Romanian-made AK-47s were found in a shoot-out that left 11 dead in the state of Jalisco three weeks ago.

The guns were traced to the Lone Wolf Gun Store in Glendale, Ariz., and were sold only after the store employees were told to do so by the ATF.

It is illegal to buy a gun for anyone but yourself. However, ATF's own documents show it allowed just 15 men to buy 1,725 guns, and 1,318 of those were after the purchasers officially became targets of investigation.

Arizona gun store owners say they were explicitly told by the ATF to sell the guns, sometimes 20, 30, even up to 40 in a single day to single person.

And those orders, from at least one ATF case agent, are on audio recording.

"We would say, 'Do you (the ATF) want us to stop selling, is there something we should do here?'" Brad DeSayes, owner of J&G Gun Sales in Prescott, said. "And they would say, 'No, no, no, keep selling - just tell us after the fact.'"

Rep. Darrell Issa, chairman of the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform, holds a hearing Wednesday into Operation Fast and Furious.

The hearing is billed as "Reckless Decisions, Tragic Outcomes," and the following are among the details expected in testimony:

- The ATF allowed and encouraged five Arizona gun store owners to sell some 1,800 weapons to buyers known to them as gun smugglers.

- It installed cameras inside the gun stores to record purchases made by those smugglers.

- It hid GPS trackers inside gun stocks and watched the weapons go south on computer screens.

- It obtained surveillance video from parking lots and helicopters showing straw buyers transferring their guns from one car to another.

- It learned guns sold in Phoenix were recovered only when Mexico police requested "trace data," which is obtained from their serial number.

The first witness in Wednesday's hearing is Sen. Charles Grassley, who will describe what his investigative team learned from four months of interviews and thousands of documents. He will be followed by three members of Brian Terry's family, three ATF agents and Assistant Attorney General Ronald Weich, who only months ago insisted the agency did not let guns go south to Mexico, a claim contradicted by field agents in Group 7, the actual agents who ran the operation in Phoenix.

Oversight hearing: Live at 1pm (ET) on C-SPAN Networks

Washington, DC
Monday, June 13, 2011

The top lawmaker on the Oversight and Government Reform Committee is holding a public hearing on a failed program intended to curb the illegal flow of guns to Mexican drug cartels.

The program, Operation Fast and Furious, was initiated under Project Gunrunner, which was operated by the Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms (ATF) agency. Fast and Furious allowed gun stores near the Mexican border to sell semiautomatic weapons in bulk to Mexican dealers. U.S. government officials hoped to track the guns to the drug cartels and prosecute them.

Chair of the Committee, Darrell Issa (R-CA) said the Department of Justice is refusing to provide the committee with information; therefore he plans to issues a “slew” of subpoenas. The hearing examines the constitutional role of the Justice Department to respond to subpoenas.

Issa said the hearing will look at "the constitutional questions raised by both the Department of Justice's refusal to comply with a Congressional subpoena as well as the withholding of documents from a Congressional subpoena."

Two officials with the Congressional Research Service and a legal scholar who has investigated several government corruption cases will testify.

Issa has already scheduled a second hearing on the issue for later this week.

You used Watergate as an example.  Do you really think Obama could be facing a Watergate type scandal?  I mean, something that big?  Yes I do.  I hope not.  That is what is going on right now – I’m trying to explain that part of it to you but maybe I’m not doing a good enough job of it.  There are those in the party – the Democratic Party, who are right now actively preparing for that possible outcome and taking protective measures to protect the party.  Let Obama go down for it – but save the party.  President Obama in turn – at least those around him who are capable enough still to function in that way, are trying to keep the party entangled in the mess, to motivate them to continue protecting the White House.  THAT is what is going on right now.  And the stakes are very high – the repercussions very serious.  That is why I keep telling you to fully appreciate the dangers here.  This stuff is no joke.  That is why I came to you.  If this goes bad, and it could just like that, I can pull the plug.  And make no mistake – I will.

Obama Adminstration Is Following the 'Detroit Pattern'
By Thomas Sowell
3/22/2011

Random thoughts on the passing scene:

They say that records are made to be broken. President George W. Bush set a record by adding $3.2 trillion to the national debt over the course of his eight years in office. But Barack Obama has already beaten that record with $4.4 trillion in just his first three years in office.

People who thoughtlessly give money to panhandlers on the street seem not to realize that this is making installment payments on the degeneration of America.

Don't mention "municipal golf courses" to me. It sends my blood pressure up through the roof. What earthly excuse is there for spending the taxpayers' money subsidizing a golf course? Politicians can't even invoke "the poor," as they do when trying to justify other government boondoggles.

The vocabulary of the political left is fascinating. For example, it is considered to be "materialistic" and "greedy" to want to keep what you have earned. But it is "idealistic" to want to take away what someone else has earned and spend it for your own political benefit or to feel good about yourself.

Lou Gehrig was probably the greatest clutch hitter of all time. Although his career was cut short by the disease that bears his name, in 7 of his 14 full seasons he had over 150 runs batted in. (Babe Ruth was second with 5 seasons.) And Gehrig still holds the career record for home runs with the bases loaded.

Economists are often asked to predict what the economy is going to do. But economic predictions require predicting what politicians are going to do-- and nothing is more unpredictable.

An e-mail from a perceptive reader points out that, although Congressional "earmarks" represent a very small part of federal spending, they can be used as bribes to buy the votes of members of Congress on bills involving the spending of vastly larger sums of the taxpayers' money.

When political commentators from the Fox News Channel had books whose sales would normally make the New York Times' non-fiction best-seller list, the New York Times changed the rules for putting books on that list. Thus best-selling political books by Mike Huckabee and Dick Morris appeared last Sunday on a more obscure list of miscellaneous personal advice and how-to books, such as "Weight Watchers New Complete Cookbook."

When the Federal Reserve cites statistics to claim that there is not much evidence of inflation, we need to keep in mind that the statistics they rely on exclude food and energy prices. The cost of living is no sweat if you can do without electricity and food.

Even if it could be proved that judges who are making rulings that go counter to the written law produce better results in those particular cases than following the letter of the law would have, that does not make society better off. When laws become unreliable and judges unpredictable, lawsuits become a bonanza for charlatans, who can force honest people to settle out of court, for fear of what some judge might do.

The mainstream media never expressed half the outrage about Mao Zedong as they did about Ronald Reagan. Yet, when it came to killing millions of innocent civilians, even Hitler was an amateur compared to Mao.

The Obama administration seems to be following what might be called "the Detroit pattern"-- increasing taxes, harassing businesses, and pandering to unions. In the short run, it got mayors re-elected. In the long-run, it reduced Detroit from a thriving city to an economic disaster area, whose population was cut in half, as its most productive citizens fled.

Safety advocates who say that we shouldn't take chances, but should ban things that might be unsafe, don't seem to understand that if we banned every food to which somebody had an allergy we could all starve to death.

The vile people who picket the funerals of American soldiers killed in action are far away enough from the mourners not to be heard. It is media attention that magnifies their sick message.

Intolerance may not promote progress but it can promote survival. An intolerant Islamic world may outlast the Western world that seems ready to tolerate anything, including the undermining of its own fundamental values and threats to its continued existence.

Secret of Voynich Manuscript, an Ancient Book Written in 'Alien' Code, Partly Revealed

Published February 11, 2011 | FoxNews.com

Part of the mystery behind an 'alien' book no one can read has at last been unraveled.

Found in a chest of books outside Rome by a dealer in antique books, the Voynich manuscript is among literature's great mysteries. The book of aging parchment is written in alien characters, some resembling Latin letters, others unlike anything used in any known language, and arranged into what appear to be words and sentences -- except they don't resemble anything written or read by human beings.

And for decades, the manuscript has mystified scientists.

"Is it a code, a cipher of some kind?" asked Greg Hodgins, a physicist with the University of Arizona. "People are doing statistical analysis of letter use and word use -- the tools that have been used for code breaking. But they still haven't figured it out," Hodgins said.

The DaVinci Code was fiction. The Voynich manuscript is real -- and its code remains one of history's biggest mysteries. But at least Hodgins has solved part of the mystery behind the book: it's age.

Because the parchment pages of the Voynich manuscript were made from animal skin, they can be radiocarbon-dated. Hodgins, a chemist and archaeological scientist, used radiocarbon dating on tiny bits of the pages extracted with a scalpel to determine that the book dates back to the early 15th century, making it a century older than scholars had previously thought.

Carbon-14 dating places the book's creation to between 1404 and 1438, in the early Renaissance. It's not the oldest book in the world -- that would be The Diamond Sutra, a seven-page scroll printed with wood blocks on paper in China around 1,300 years ago. But it's older than the Gutenberg bible, the first book printed with modern presses, which rolled off the line in 1453.

Despite these revelations, the book -- with its alien language (possibly a coded writing) and puzzling drawings -- remains largely a mystery, said Kevin Repp, curator of modern books & manuscripts for the Beinecke Rare Book Library, which currently houses the tome.

"There are many reasons why a manuscript would have been written in code at the time," he told FoxNews.com, "fears of accusations of heresy or witchcraft among them. Then again, there is also the possibility that the manuscript doesn’t say anything at all. Some of the top researchers in the field lean toward the latter explanation, particularly since it has proven impossible using the latest computer technology to decipher the script."

Currently owned by Yale, the manuscript was discovered in the Villa Mondragone near Rome in 1912 by antique book dealer Wilfrid Voynich while sifting through a chest of books offered for sale by the Society of Jesus. Voynich dedicated the remainder of his life to unveiling the mystery of the book's origin and deciphering its meanings. He died 18 years later, without having wrestled any its secrets from the book.

Hodgins is quick to point out that anything beyond the dating aspect is outside his expertise, but he admits he is just as fascinated with the book as everybody else who has tried to unveil its history and meaning.

"There are types of ciphers that embed meaning within gibberish. So it is possible that most of it does mean nothing," he said. "There is an old cipher method where you have a sheet of paper with strategically placed holes in it. And when those holes are laid on top of the writing, you read the letters in those holes."

Hodgins is curious as to the meaning, of course, and as willing to speculate as anyone. "Who knows what's being written about in this manuscript, but it appears to be dealing with a range of topics that might relate to alchemy. Secrecy is sometimes associated with alchemy, and so it would be consistent with that tradition if the knowledge contained in the book was encoded. What we have are the drawings," he noted. "Are they botanical? Are they marine organisms? Are they astrological? Nobody knows."

"I find this manuscript is absolutely fascinating as a window into a very interesting mind. Piecing these things together was fantastic. It's a great puzzle that no one has cracked -- and who doesn't love a puzzle?"

Let's talk about the weather... / Israel and the weather -
« on: February 05, 2011, 12:08:18 PM »
Once more I will bring up a common debate in Christian circles: Are weather events ever related to God's judgment on a nation.
Following are links to a series of blog posts making the argument that sometimes they are. The timing of these events in relation to certain actions by governments is very interesting. Naturally, if you are not interested you need not bother reading further.

A few quotes: November 1, 1991, when we forced Israel to the Madrid Conference. We forced them to sit down at the table and start negotiating away their land to the Palestinians. That conference began on November 1, 1991, and on that exact day the Perfect Storm formed in the Atlantic. That perfect storm produced waves of over 100 feet and almost completely destroyed President Bush's home in Kennebunkport, Maine.

in the summer of 1992 when Yitzhak Rabin was elected the new prime minister of Israel. The moment he was elected in June, we put pressure on him and said he must come to Washington, sit down with the PLO's Arafat, and negotiate and give land to Arafat. He came and sat down with Arafat. Their meeting began on August 24, 1992, and on that very day Andrew Hurricane slammed into Miami. It was the greatest hurricane in the history of the United States up to that point.

the Camp David Summit in July of 2000, when Bill Clinton brought Israel's Prime Minister Ehud Barak and Yasser Arafat together. Clinton began to put pressure on Barak to trade away the heartland of Israel and also to give Arafat one half of Jerusalem. The day that conference began, fires broke out in the Western United States. Fifty fires consumed 500,000 acres of land before the end of the month.

in November of 2002, President Bush made this incredible statement. He said, "We have come to honor Allah, the God of Abraham." The very next day, a swarm of 88 tornadoes hit the central United States.

on May 4, 2003. The next day Colin Powell went to the Middle East to implement the plan. The first thing he did was to meet with the terrorist leader Hafez Assad who's now dead. As soon as the meeting was over, he called a press conference and announced he had promised President Assad that the Golan Heights would be promised in the Road Map. He said we would force Israel to give up the Golan Heights. That very day, the greatest tornado swarm in the history of the United States occurred — 412 tornados broke out. The previous high was only 177!

Zechariah 2:8 (NIV84)
8 For this is what the Lord Almighty says: “After he has honored me and has sent me against the nations that have plundered you [Israel] —for whoever touches you touches the apple of his eye—

Joel 3:1-2,
"I will gather all the nations and bring them down to the valley of Jehoshaphat the valley of judgment, and then I will enter into judgment with them on behalf of my people and my inheritance Israel whom they have scattered among the nations and have divided up my land."

Just sayin'

Feed Your Head / Yellowstone just took a deep breath -

http://http://www.cnn.com/video/#/video/bestoftv/2011/01/27/am.kaku.volcano.cnn?hpt=C2

This thing worries me some.

I realize I am nearly singular among Forni with my Christian faith, and so seldom bring it up, altho I will chime in when others do. In this case, I feel compelled to explain a little about a frequent debate that takes place in Christian circles. End of days Biblical prophecy focuses intently upon a nation of Israel. This was once a source of debate as some few brave souls insisted that somehow, someway Israel would be a nation in the latter days of history. They were scoffed at and ridiculed by the majority as this was seen as a ridiculous, impossible notion. The main-stream majority of the time insisted God was finished with "Israel" (as a people and nation) and all the numerous promises and prophecies about Israel where really about the Church. This was called replacement theology.  The main-stream majority were wrong.

A current debate has to do with America's absence from Biblical Prophecy. While many modern nations are named, tho often by a more ancient title - America is absent.  This seems odd as we are after all a super-power intimately involved with Middle-Eastern politics and policies. Surely then, one can legitimately expect to find some reference to America in the prophet's descriptions of Israel's final days of history prior to the return of the King. There is one verse about Israel escaping on the wings of a great eagle (Rev 12:13) that some think may be the US, but others insist refers to God Himself, as in Exodus 19:4 and Deuteronomy 32:11.  There are a few others debated about but in my mind they are even less likely to be about the US than this one.  All that said, I am in agreement with those who feel the US is not mentioned and that this means the US is not going to be an important player in end time events.

So the debate is then, well why not? Where are we?  Many possible scenarios are bandied about and debated. Seeing this about Yellowstone makes me wonder if this will be the answer to the question.

Break out the flashlights. When a full lunar eclipse takes place on the shortest day of the year, the planet may just get awfully dark.

The upcoming Dec. 21 full moon -- besides distinguishing itself from the others in 2010 by undergoing a total eclipse -- will also take place on the same date as the solstice (the winter solstice if you live north of the equator, and the summer solstice if you live to the south).

Winter solstice is the shortest day of the year in the Northern Hemisphere and marks the official beginning of winter. The sun is at its lowest in our sky because the North Pole of our tilted planet is pointing away from it.

So, how often does the December full moon coincide with the solstice? To answer this question, let's use Universal Time (UT), also sometimes referred to as Greenwich Mean Time (GMT). We do this because in answering this question, it's important to define a specific time zone.

For example, if you live in Honolulu, this December's full moon does not fall on the date of the solstice. Hawaii Time runs 10 hours behind GMT and the full moon occurs on Dec. 20 at 10:13 p.m. local time, while the solstice comes the following day at 1:38 p.m. Alaska, too, will have the full moon and the solstice occur on these respective dates, but in a time zone one hour later than Hawaii.

But both the full moon and solstice do occur on the same date (Dec. 21) in Greenwich, as well across the contiguous United States and Canada.

Prior to this year, there were solstice full moons in 1999 (Dec. 22) and 1980 (Dec. 21).

Interestingly, after this year, we'll have a long time to wait until we have a December full moon occur on the same date as the solstice: Dec. 21, 2094!  And even more interesting -- just like this year -- that same full moon will fall into Earth's shadow in a total lunar eclipse. However, unlike this year, the 2094 eclipse will not be visible from the Western Hemisphere, but will be able to be seen from Europe, Africa and much of Asia. [How to Watch the Dec. 20 Total Lunar Eclipse]

Finally, this raises the question -- prior to 2010, when was the last time that we had a total lunar eclipse occur on the same calendar date as the winter solstice? The answer, incredibly, takes us back nearly four centuries.

On Dec. 21, 1638, the full moon was in total eclipse from 1:12 to 2:47 UT.  And the solstice occurred later in the day at 16:05 UT.  [Amazing photos of a total lunar eclipse]

Once again, it's important to note that this occurred at the Greenwich meridian.  For the Americas, this eclipse actually occurred during the evening of Dec. 20, while the solstice occurred on the following day.
