^^ good comment on youtube:
Children were molested in this? house

Lols. Could also be that structural repairs are too much of a hassle for them to deal with at the moment. Wasn't another of their buildings (http://http://www.fornits.com/phpbb/viewtopic.php?f=43&t=22294&p=298709#p298709) recently condemned and/or slated for demolition due to termite or carpenter ant damage or other "structural deficiencies?"
On another note, anyone know which faculty were living there up 'till recently (or still are)?
From details posted for this particular clip (http://http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rCZSU_3soCg):
The "Crows Nest" has been part of the Hyde School since 1966. The home has been used as a dormitory and most recently as faculty housing. Could be used as a three unit multi-family or single family with an in-law apt. The lot spans South St to Bath St.

They are probably trying to sell the houses so that they don't have to stop paying Malcolm big money for not actually doing anything. Maybe he can raze the building, pave paradise and put up a basketball court!
Why don't they sink some money into the dorms, instead of lining their own pockets? Have you seen what conditions the kids are living in? I'll bet the Gauld's house is pretty nice inside.

Here's a clip of the New Dorm (long no longer new):

That clip is also posted in THIS thread (http://http://www.fornits.com/phpbb/viewtopic.php?f=43&t=23197), along with a few other YouTube clips by the same guy. OP of that thread contains the all-time classic 'Hyde School Campus Tour'; "classic" to my mind at least! :D

Here's an update on what happened to the Crow's Nest:
Apparently it was bought by Chris and Jill Gordon, a couple who planned to fix-and-flip it. Which they did, selling it via an online real estate auction company 'bout a year later (which is a little over a year ago). I've no idea what's happened since; presumably that last buyer, "Rick D.," still owns it. I'm hard-pressed to imagine any more flipping going on given the price he paid for it and today's economy.
Once the Gordons completed renovations, they started a blog — Historic Bath Maine Home Auction (http://http://historicnewenglandpropertyauction.wordpress.com/) — to help market the house. This blog has only a few entries, all during the selling period and build up just prior, and all effusive about particulars regarding the house and/or the online real estate auction company (http://http://www.auctionbyseller.com/). Here's the pic of the former Crow's Nest from that auction company's lineup of "Previous 5 Day Sale Auctions":
