Wrong--You saved! your ass! The Seed showed you what it takes to do it---not drugs or booze.  Now it seems that you are once again standing on the ledge on one foot.Strange you you would bring up suicide on you latest post! I know that the holiday season will increase this feeling! My feeling is only the strongest survive in any  setting. Yea you can blame all your problems on everyone else or other reasons  as I have read on many of these threads but you are the only one that can make the call! I dont have to be touchy and  feely to care ! Your family is watching.

Do you remember an amature night open meeting ? I did a stand up comedy act with some Jerry Clower/Jeff Foxworthy type lines as portraing a real southern hickabilly. It might have even been around xmas. Do you remember a young boy who was brought to the Seed from Ohio(frist one) on the guise of seeing his cousin who was in the Seed only to being processed in by his parents? I remember J.U. asking him in front of the group if he thought he was going to have a hard time finding dope in Fl. He had a large bag of pot and some coke in his boot when he was searched. It wasnt long after that Art came before the group and said Cleveland was going to be the next target city.My first newcomer arrived from Cleveland right after that.Funny, he graduated from the program before me.It seems to me that the more I read other post that I remember more?

One day I hope to get the same chance to say "Thank You", to all the ones who believed in me when I didnt. Some of you who read this know what I truly feel and know what I am talking about.

Some people needed more help then what the seed had to offer.Further more, some people didnt need any help at all,it was everbody else that was wrong. The ones that needed more help jump of bridges or sit behind bars doin time and the ones that say it was everbody else fault now have mental anguish for the help they didnt need.Whats up! Will have more later got to go.

I agree age and maturity seemed to play a lot on how one made it through the Seed or the Marines.

One is not a marine until one graduates from boot camp. He is lower then life.. a maggot. He is not allowed to think on his own. His disease is being a civilian. No debasement there! My last word again is  the Seed was not as bad as boot camp.

I dont agree with ya maggot! HURRAH!!!!!!

The  intended out come I think is about the same for both organizations. Both strived to produce strong minded, independent, self reliant, confident
self thinkers ,and good morale ethical decsion makers.
If I remember, the Seed even had group raps on honor, courage and commitments. This is all damn close with what the Marine Corps teach. As for what you think Arts goals were?,It seems as if he must have discussed this with you personally from your statement. All I know is that I (we) must all have washed out from the program if fallowing his goals!
Is this where I say ,"The Seed LOVES YOU" or

The Seed Discussion Forum / PTSD....... Has many faces
« on: August 16, 2004, 08:39:00 PM »
I really dont care what others think about me. I have become my own man. I try to treat others as If they are good friends. I still remember good points and bad points... when the bad out ways the good it is time to distance myself...  Do you really think that the ones (Greg) you mention would even try to come to a  non sponsered (Seed) get together? Do you really think they are ready for a confrontation. I for one would be glad to have the inner cicle come and and answers questions... but with todays lawsuites and people who hold  everyone and anything accountable... I doubt it ..would you? Besides I think that just a day of fresh air and food for those of us who could meet someplace that can be enjoyed by the family would be a good start. Lets face it, we all belong to something that we all can relate to one way or another. Even in war there is,was, good times and bad. (M.A.S.H.) I, like your self missed  a lot of my youth due to either missing school,(Seed), or just being to stoned to  care  My life started to come back together after the Seed. I think that if there was interest in a get together that given time the word would spread to those that were interested. I would think a central meeting place within the state, like a park,a spring  or even a beach  at the end of next summer would give enough time to get the word out and locate such a area. What do I have to gain? Some old lost friends?

Who would have thought!

After reading the latest post one can see the many faces of the Seed... good and bad depending what you were left with after leaving the program. Just like politics some are way to the right and some way to the left. It would be interesting to actully know if liberal vs conservative thinking plays a part in ones perception of  what the seed did for them? Any way, I dont remember playing baseball or football or a mother trucker unless  Artie fills the slot.  Just a thought, Prior to the end of the Vietnam war it was common for the court system to either give a sentence of either going to prison,  the Marine corps  and sometimes the Seed. Its good to see different ideas of thought about the Seed being posted. Has anyone ever sponsered an Oldtimers day other then the Seed.? How bout it?
