Hyde Schools / Re: pete gregory is a douch bag
« on: June 05, 2012, 01:12:34 PM »
I wonder what happened at the Bath campus that Pete Gregory is being "transferred" to the Woodstock campus.  Just like the Catholic Church, Hyde shuffles its predators from one campus to another.

Looks like he got caught with his pants down again.

Hyde Schools / Peg Armstrong
« on: June 05, 2012, 01:07:37 PM »
Actually, I don't think Peg Armstrong has been associated with Hyde in a while.  She is the school counselor at Morse High School in Bath.  I wonder if they knew about her past at Hyde when they hired her.  So yes, she is still counseling young adults, just not with Hyde.

Hyde Schools / Re: PLEASE HELP!!! Should I send my son to Hyde???
« on: May 10, 2012, 03:24:05 PM »
Make no mistake, Hyde is about money NOT kids.

I believe there are some good faculty members there with good intentions, but the bulk of the faculty members are in over their heads.  The biggest problem with the Hyde method is that they are simply not qualified to handle the emotional aspects of their "program".  They are not therapists.  They are not trained to deal with families in a group setting.  Imagine a young teacher, fresh out of college, trying to manage a group therapy session with some pretty dysfunctional families. It's just not a pretty picture.  THEY ARE NOT QUALIFIED TO DO WHAT THE SCHOOL ASKS THEM TO DO.

So on to the money...
Hyde is now doing, like most desperate boarding schools, taking more foreign students.  These families have no idea what they are sending their kids into.  Hyde really is not the right school for them, but they have money. Lots of money.  So Hyde welcomes them with open arms, even though they can barely participate in what is so integral to the Hyde philosophy. They become their own separate entity within the school and don't really integrate or participate.  But they have money.  Lots of it.

It is sad to see a school, run by a greedy family, mostly idiots who care more about their faculty and staff's loyalty to the school than human decency, kindness, honesty, or integrity.  Look at who stays and who leaves.  Look at who gets fired. Look at who gets paid six figures.

Parenting experts.  What a load of shit.

Hyde Schools / Sanner is an idiot.
« on: May 10, 2012, 03:05:47 PM »
Ross Sanner is, like most Hyde alums turned faculty, an idiot who can't survive in the real world.
Ross is a farce of a man who lies and lies to cover his ass.  Moral integrity does not exist in his world.  He pretends to be a big man on campus, talks the talk, but just can't seem to walk the walk.

Oh how sad that people pay good money to send their kids to Hyde.

If you read this IRS form carefully, it not only shows how much money Malcolm is making, but Laurie Hurd, Ken and Claire Grant, Lavoe Davis and other "top officers".
When taking into account the economic climate, and their annual Fair Share campaign, how much are these people contributing to the school, considering that Malcolm, Ken and Claire have PRACTICALLY NO PERSONAL EXPENSES!!!! They should be giving A LOT back.
I find this information offensive, especially when that money directly effects student programs or lack thereof.
How about Joe, Malcolm, Laura, Ken, Claire, Don and Gigi pay their own bills for one year as a fair share contribution and let's see how much money the school can save just not having to pay the family's personal expenses. And that doesn't take into account what they don't pay under the non-profit tax exempt status they conveniently use for their houses and cars.

Make no mistake, this is a family business, not an educational institution, and certainly not a non-profit one at that.

Where is the integrity they so love to preach about?

I heard that Ross is now in the Admissions department. How nice that he can hand pick his bullying victims.
Why does Hyde keep putting these deficient alums in positions of responsibility? Would any of them be able to make it in the real world? Hyde really should be called Hide Out. A school for emotionally and intellectually challenged administrators! Can you imagine what an admin meeting must be like? LMAO!! Not a lot of brain power there.

Hyde Schools / Re: Founder's Findings
« on: September 26, 2009, 03:51:28 PM »
So the interesting thing about Hyde and the concept of character, is that the founding family are the people who lack character the most. And their unique potential has never been truly discovered, unless Malcolm's unique potential is to write a blog and play basketball all day. Surely he must have more potential than that, he's certainly getting paid a lot to just do that.

The issue with character and the founding family, is that if you want to sell it, you have to practice it. And if you want the kids to practice it, you need to model it for them. Instead, the "non-profit" institution is all about making a profit for the family. It's no different than any other corporation in America, with big executive bonuses, screw the underlings, who cares about the investors, as long as I get my money at the end of the day.

A person of character would recognize that in financial times like these, if you believe in your business, you must sacrifice to make it survive and make sure that the mission is first and foremost the priority. Take care of the business i.e. the students and the employees. Pay them first. Pay yourself last. Take care of the people who are putting money in your pocket- the students and faculty. How do you pay the students? Provide them with decent living conditions, quality instructors, a healthy environment.

People want leadership, integrity, courage. Who at Hyde is going to step up to the plate to provide it? When will the family stop taking from the institution and give back to help it survive? It would be the smart thing to do. It would demonstrate character and integrity, a commitment to the cause, not just the bottom line. Why is Hyde in financial trouble? (See thread about selling Crow's Nest) Because the family can't afford to pay themselves the overinflated salaries they get (and this doesn't even include everything the "business" provides for them that they don't pay any taxes on) for not running their business properly.

And where is the board of trustees who should be overseeing all this? Too afraid to challenge the family, I'm sure.

They are probably trying to sell the houses so that they don't have to stop paying Malcolm big money for not actually doing anything. Maybe he can raze the building, pave paradise and put up a basketball court!

Why don't they sink some money into the dorms, instead of lining their own pockets? Have you seen what conditions the kids are living in? I'll bet the Gauld's house is pretty nice inside.

Hyde Schools / Re: What Bullies know about Bullying
« on: September 21, 2009, 02:18:49 PM »
Hyde is rife with bullies in both the student population and the faculty. Not surprising is that the worst offenders on campus are those who are alums. Seems the message of character and integrity didn't take hold. I think the reason for the bullish attitude is a compensation method for lack of qualification to be a real leader. If not actually qualified to teach, it must be covered up somehow, and intimidation appears to be the method of choice. Real growth, growth that challenges authority and the decisions being made for you by others isn't actually encouraged. They want conformity for the sake of community. Not a community of strong minded individuals. Pity the fool who thinks for him or herself.
