How long are some of you folks going to complain about these programs (that are closed now) Get over it! Maybe use this forum to expose/give info on programs out there NOW that may be harmful. What's it been 30 + years?

I might stop talking about it when morons like you stop telling me to get over it.  Then again I might not.  Fuck you.

Withdraw, I'm with Anne, don't beat yourself up.  My interview sucked, I totally froze up and couldn't think of anything to say.  I thought I was ready to relate my story but I did not do so to my own satisfaction.  As more time goes by, however, I find I am getting more comfortable talking about it. You didn't fail anyone.  Our experiences were all similar but also all unique, there is no "standard" time in which to get over all the fear and guilt and self doubt that these places instilled in us, we all do the best we can.

I think I figured out the mormon woman comment. Your talking about the picture of the woman that says something about being a mormon under it? That is an add of some kind. I see these on FB and some of the blogs. I have never clicked on it to see just what they are advertising but I imagine it is the LDS in general or maybe a mormon match-making service or something like that. But anyway, it has nothing to do with the content of the blog.

Yeah, my mistake about the mormon woman, it was just an add.  9:30 am is early for me.  Comment about Reagan still applies though.

Just another example of how when I post here discussions get going and people participate.  When I sit back and just watch the traffic on this cite goes to zero.  People like none-ya and Shadyacres don't even post unless they are arguing with me.  When I'm not here they run away like Anne Bonney, Bruce and DJ did.  lol

...

When you post here all the discussion is about you and how rude, callous, disingenuous and deceptive you are.  I think most of us stopped coming here because no matter how much we post, the New Posts list always reads;  Whooter, Whooter, Whooter, Whooter, Whooter, Whooter, Whooter, Whooter.  And EdKahn, MittRomney, etc., etc...

I don't know why they let you back on here but you had nothing to do with my presence here today.  I still scan fornits regularly and responded to a post with a thank you to everyone here (not you) who helped make my recovery a reality.  When I saw you dominating the New Posts lists again, I had to put in my two cents.  But this isn't the Whooter forum, if you have nothing to say but the same old bullshit then SHUT UP!  Don't bother to reply, I will not read it.

Whooter the vampire; " I'm rubber and you're glue, everything you say bounces off me and sticks to you".  It is no mystery why he can't find a real career.

When have you ever done anything but start trouble here? And if you would like to move on,well go right ahead. We won't miss you. Everyone knows you're just a shill. A mouthpeice for the bad guys.  Nothing extreme about that.

I always supported you, none-ya, especially when you were sick.

Good luck None-ya. Infections suck, stay strong, get it taken care of and get back here. I'll miss your perspective and input.

Why are you so nasty to me?  All I do here is present the facts.  I guess if you don't like it you can find somewhere else to read.  I'd rather have an honest debate though instead of all of  your attacks and lies.

...

Whooter, I don’t think you can stand facts.  I think when you encounter facts, you can’t rest until you have turned them into lies.  Like vampires counting seeds.  Whooter the teen torturing, fact twisting vampire.

Sheesh, Shady.  The topic here is "Should I send my Son to Hyde?"  The answer is "yes".  But your nonsense is off topic.  You can start an attack thread like Bruce use to do and spend your days attacking me there, but I will have to alert a moderator that you're derailing this thread in the mean time.

...

Whooter, you are the one who brought up Swift River as a shining example of ethics and competence.  Get a life.  Hyde is still a torture mill.  What are you doing about it?

Not so fast, Shady.  Not everyone agrees with your narrow and bias view.  Here are a couple of links for you:

1)  This was a study conducted surveying 1,000 parents and graduates of a few programs.  The study was overseen by WIRB (The Western Institutional Review Board) and they also approved the study.  The results were presented at the Annual meeting of the APA American Psychological Association.

Link

2)  There was a writer who spent 14 months (I thought it was 16 months) inside a program and then wrote a book about his findings

Link

A Pulitzer Prize-winning writer untangles the mysteries of the
teenage mind as he witnesses troubled kids transformed by fourteen
months at a school that offers therapy for adolescents in
crisis.
Millions of parents struggle to grasp what goes on in their kids' heads,
on their computers, and among their friends. As an education correspondent
for U.S. News & World Report, David L. Marcus
wrestled with similar
questions while reporting on the welter of pressures American teenagers
now face – a resurgent drug culture, proliferating temptations and threats
on-line, skyrocketing suicide rates (three times higher than in the
1960s).

To find answers, Marcus gained unfettered access to students, staff,
and parents at the Academy at Swift River
in the hills of western
Massachusetts. The kids at Swift River had already ventured down a
number of perilous paths all parents fear their own children might
take – drug use, violence, theft, internet addictions, eating disorders,
promiscuity. Known for combining intensive academics, a wilderness
program and group therapy, the school helps troubled teenagers emotional
health.

It seems the facts are on my side, Shady lol.

Molly,
Whooter is an industry troll and his attitude is indicative of the kind of people you would be turning your son over to.  He was formally known as "TheWho", go back and look at some of his advice over the last six or seven years on this forum, it should shed some light on his motivation.

Its weird... all of a sudden FB (and now Reddit) is blowing up with talk about the TTI... like 10 years too late to do anything about it but it's still pretty cool to see that people care.

Many of us who are now 'blowing up Facebook and Reddit' were inspired by your words here.  I kept my experience to myself for 25 years because nobody wanted to hear it, just assumed I was a whiner[/i].  Then I found fornits and read the experiences of others that were so much like mine.  It gave me courage to, as Oscar said; "close this chapter in my life once and for all".  I would like to give a big thank you to all you guys here at fornits just for being here and sharing your stories, they were very important to me in my struggle to get past this bullshit.

They were right, Shady.  Ha,Ha,Ha.  But I am glade you have found good value in my postings that has helped you overcome your problems.  Maybe if you worked your program honestly it wouldn't have come to this.  Just kidding lol.

...

And I am glade that you will soon be looking for a job.  Asshat.

Are you kidding?  Who has been worshipping our late senile toady to the Bush family, Ronald Reagan, at every opportunity?  In fact that crazy mormon woman reminds me of Nancy Reagan.  The democratic party certainly has no monopoly on wacko mormons, most of whom I believe are in the other camp.  This looks like a hoax to me, created by the right to discredit the left.  We've all heard it before, Obama is the antichrist and wants to rule over the "New World Order".  And destroy Christianity by removing prayer from schools and allowing them to teach evolution.  This woman's blog conforms to the way the right frequently sees the left, but not to how the left actually presents itself, in general.

"The only kids that have problems with self-worth are either kids who are emotionally disturbed or have a drug-use pattern."

How was this idiot able to pass himself off as a "professional" for 20+ years?  What he is saying is "if we were able to break them in the 'interview', then that is proof that they needed the program".  Apparently, having lazy or incompetent parents will never result in low self worth.  If you didn't have the self confidence to stand up to these assholes, it is just proof that you were a "druggie".

"I check their eyes" ?  What an unbelievable douchebag.
