Brat Camp / Karen In Dallas

I think Karen in Dallas needs to be sent to Brat Camp. She obviously has a bad attitude and manipulation issues.

Carlbrook has the many of the usual suspects working there, and it's closed from the outside world.

My son's friend was sent off to Carolina Spring about 6 months ago (or we think that's where she went). I was told Chi3 pulled her daughter out. If anyone has any information on Carolina Springs, please let me know. It has an awful reputation and I am really worried about Kelly. Her brother died of a heroin overdose and her parents are tripped out and bought into the whole--it's the only way to save her life thing.

I think it must be Carolina Springs. We're in Connecticut and they can't keep North and South Carolina straight in New England. Carolina Springs is in Abbeville, SC. Where can I find Chi3? When did she take her daughter out? Maybe I'll try paging her on the forum. Thanks!

Isn't Carolina Springs supposed to be almost as bad as Casa by the Sea was?

Her parents are pretty tripped out. They are very rich in Connecticut and her older brother went to a program, maybe Daytop, and was straight about 6 months then OD'd on heroin, so they are really buying into the "this is the only way to save her life spiel." I would certainly call social services--I know Carolina Springs has a TERRIBLE reputation, but these schools keep popping up more and more all over the place. I wish I could at least find out which one she is in. If I called social services in any of these towns, they would tell me the sorts of complaints they have on the school? Most of these towns think the kids in these schools are BAD, as in killed someone or something ignorant.

It might be Three Springs. Then again, it could be Carolina Springs. Is there any way to find out?

My son's friend (she's 16) got shipped to one of these schools in North Carolina about 6 months ago. No one really knew where she went but now word is leaking out that she's in one of the cedu/wwasp type places for school or rehabilitation that's in North Carolina. I am very worried about her. Does anyone know what place this might be? Has anyone been there recently? (Whereever there is)> Her name is Kelly. thanks. any information greatly appreciated.

Elan School / just a thought

I moved to CT 2 years ago--this is the crookedest state I've ever seen. I moved here from Manhattan and felt like I'd just fallen off the back of a turnip truck. I've lived in all a lot of "allegedly" crooked places--but NOTHING compares to CT.

And people are nuts here. They call the police all the time for no reason. In NY we only called the cops if there was a dead body or something, and even then, we discussed it.

yeh-marcus got a pulitzer prize for that book. have any of you read it? I was going to but then I thought it was going to be a skewed view.

Wow--that's like a Faulkner novel. Get a pen and paper.

To Roy:

You write really beautifully. You should write a book about dealing with adolescents.

Ginger writes beautifully as well--but she should write a different book--not sure which one though

To Roy:

That was very well put. Very eloquent and clear.

Casa by the Sea was accredited by Northwest Accreditation Association. It is real accreditation, but I still say they'd accreditate a school of fish.

I've got to ask: Did the parents get a refund for services not yet rendered? It didn't seem clear from that article or else I missed it.

Do you think they saw bad times coming and got an account in the Caymans or Panama?

I have no problem with AA. I have problems with people being forced into it. Frankly I think it's about the only thing that is effective--but not when people are forced.

Rules, zero tolerance, society has gone mad for conformity. FIne. It's all yours.
