Title: Wes Fager
Post by: pelberglaw on February 12, 2009, 09:22:10 PM
In recent years the truth about Straight, Miller Newton, the Semblers, Kids and their progeny have become public.  While all of the villains have not been punished and the victims still deal with the aftermath the con that was Straight has ben exposed and the single person most responsible for making the truth known was Wes Fager.  Those of us who wanted to know the truth always knew that Wes was the primary source and his courage and dedication were an inspiration. Sometimes irrepressible but always honest and always extraordinarily decent he looked evil in the eye over and over again and he called it what it was.
Wes died yesterday.  He was an inspiration to me.  He should have lived a longer life then each of the bastards he exposed.  He didn't but the years he lived were well lived and he managed to take the harm that was done to him and his family and make it into something positive that was of value to the rest of us.  The world has been diminished by his passing.  He was a good man. He was a hero.

What horrible news!

I am so grateful for all Wes did to expose the truth about Straight. I am so grateful for how much his research and website contributed toward my own personal healing. May he rest in peace....

Wes Fager is alive is very sick and please discontinue the comments about his death.

He is at present fighting for his life.

He has servered his country in the armed service, his community, his family and his causes and is a hero.

Kindly respect that.

Aw shit.  This is horrible news.  I wonder if the PFC goons (http://http://www.topix.net/forum/source/wish/TROP1SFH8BA6MVS4J/p49#c980) will stop labeling us all "thestraights" now.  Maybe we should all take the name in honor of Wes.  I loved his website and activism.  It's a shame to see him go.  He was a hero.  Few in his position would have the integrity and strength to do what he did.

Is Wes alive? I can't imagine the OP posting about his death if he were alive.

I applaud Wes Fager for his dedication to the cause. As a parent I can fully understand his dedication which many would label as obsession.

It was due to the Straight website that Wes created and then to fornits which has opened my eyes forever to the many issues surrounding the "Troubled Teen Industry"

Thank you Wes for all you've done to help those who've been there, and to prevent many from going there.

I spoke with Wes Fager's wife this morning he is in grave condition in Baltimore.

Wes has fought cancer for 12 years all the while working hard to close places like Straight and expose their horrible abuses and frauds.

He never complained about his illness.

I know we thought he had passed the other day as his situation is so serious that was our understanding.

As of today he is fighting for his life.

If you have agreed with him or not, his heart has always been in the right place and anytime anyone needed him he was always there for all of us!

He dedicated his life to the service of his fellow man.

Dear Wes - Thank you for your dedication, hard work and for the love, support and encouragement you have given all survivors.  You will be missed, but never forgotten.  My preayers go out to Kay and his family.  Wes did much for us all.  He was the backbone of much of our efforts. Thank you for loaning him to us for so many years.

your friend and comrade in arms -

"To sin by silence when they should protest makes cowards of men. Abraham Lincoln "

Wes lived by this statement.

Wes always put his fellow man before himself.  He dedicated his life to his country, his family, his grand-kids and his causes.

Wes thought things through very carefully, so when Wesley Fager spoke, he spoke the truth.

That's why the Semblers have always been afraid of him.

Wes set a very high bar for all of us to attempt to live by.  He was the most decent man I have ever met.

He was my father and brother, my counselor and friend.

The lessons he has taught me and the values he projected on me, I shall forever be in his debt.

To his grandchildren, your grandfather is a hero, hold your head high and tell people he is a hero because he is.

To his family and friends we grieve together.

The war is far from over and many battles are still to fight.

Wes Fager has given us the confidence and strength to continue in our efforts to rid our world of abusive and terrible organizations which set out with awful motives to ruin our society,  Richard Bradbury Tampa, Florida

I know little about WesFager except that he was an advocate. How did he get involved in advocacy?

His loss makes me feel frightened. I know he was very intelligent and hosted a site and was out spoken about the teen abduction, torture and brainwashing industry.

Not many people care enough or are brave enough to do what he did and the loss makes the world a more dangerous place.

The fact that Mel Sembler and Miller Newton are still alive make this world a dangerous place.  Wes has and will continue to inspire people to speak out, even though he is no longer with us.  He is one of MANY people active in the fight to stop child abuse, if you aren't aware of that then educate yourself. This world is only as dangerous, as we the people, allow it to be.

:waaaa:  I'm very sorry for Wes's family's loss.  I'm  also sorry for our loss.
Wes changed my life. I'll never forget the day in 2000 that I first met Wes and Ginger. It was a life-changing experience. That led to my meeting Ken, Richard, Scott, Phil and many others. It was such a small little group of people in the beginning. It is hard to believe that his work was the beginning of all of this. I'll never forget you WES.  Love and peace to Wes's son, daughter, grandkids and especially his wife. Rest In Peace My Good Friend.  :peace:

First time I heard 'a' Wes Fager was more than a few years ago now, when my buddy handed me a Cannabis Culture mag he'd been reading, sayin to me that I might be interested in this article about Orwellian anti-drug programs, and as it turned out was about Straight Inc.  Wes was mentioned in that article and I think there was even a picture of him too, and I was directed to his web-site from there.  I still had to wait a few years before I checked out thestraights.com though, as that was way before I even had a computer or knew anything of fornits or the internet.

I didn't know Wes personally, but I just want to offer my sympathy to the family and friends as well as my respect.

Thanks to Ginger for calling me with this sad news.

Wes was a good friend to those of us who got to know them.  His personal hero was Richard Bradbury for his very public and brave efforts to close straight.  He saw his struggle as similar to Richards...someone who made a mistake by  aligning themselves with the program, then  came to realize said mistake and fight against it.

In the formative days of this forum and the organized (somewhat) internet efforts against the program in its various guises, There were a handfull of people talking about what the hell happened to them.  Among them were Wes, Ginger, Kathy, Ken, Kim, and a few others, and I stumbled in with my stories about the seed.  Almost immediately Wes and I became fast friends and compatriats.  In the 4 or so times I met with Wes we always laughed and felt at home with each other.

Wes is directly responsible, along with a few others, with he activism that exists today.  I will never forget his friendship or his efforts.

RIP my friend.

When I first started looking for people from Straight...next to Fornit's, Wes's site was just about the only thing out there that had any information about what we experienced.  I remember spending hours and hours reading through A Clockwork Straight...I bet there are lots of us who remember doing that.

I sent Wes a note and asked him if he would let me send him my story....he said of course.  I never sent it to him, but I think just being able to ask, and have someone hear me and say yes......was the beginning of healing for me.

Thank you for saying Yes, Mr. Fager.

God bless Wes Fager for all he has done.  When I first found his website, 15 years after my Straight ordeal, I read it for 3 days straight and cried damn near the whole time.  After all the years of blocking it out of my mind, it was Wes and his site that helped me finally start the healing process.

Is there anyone who is taking up the cause for him?  I'd hate to think any of his progress or efforts are in danger of diminishing.  As long as there are Semblers and Newtons and Straight-derivatives in this world, the fight is far from over.

What can we do to help?

Never forget.

We'll miss you Wes!!!!!!!

Oh my god... I just heard about this now. I'm crying. My life is busy, and I tend to put the KIDS/Straight stuff way behind me as I deal with life as it is lived now, parenthood and dealing with having an autistic child with similar symptoms to the ones I had.

Wes was one of the people I talked to back in 2001 when all this stuff came out of me and I had a breakdown. His book online has been the source of me not having to recount what happened to me every time I needed to. I always ive out the link to it.

I am really sad about this, and had I known at the time I would have made the funeral (as I was down there that weekend :()

Well, cheers to you Wes, and a life lived well. You helped 10's of thousands of people, and someone said that the measure of immortality was how well we lived and what we left behind, and if thats true, you are one true "Immortal".

I met Wes for my first time in St. Petersburg at the $traight Survivor's reunion in 2002. I was so overwhelmed at the time hearing all of the information I had buried for over 15 years and Wes' informative website on $traight helped me to make better sense of it all. I remember hearing him speak to us about how he had been duped into the program and how he took action once he realized something was very wrong with it. His insight helped me to understand my parents a little better and I thank him for his relentless effort he put into spreading the word about the atrocities of $traight Incorporated.

God Bless You Wes Fager!
You Will Be Missed, But Not Forgotten
May You Rest In Peace
