Who is this mysterious "Whitmore's Shining Star"?

Was he/she a real student at the Whitmore?

Do her poems have the quality to be published as evidence against the Sudweeks?

Does her poetic structure stand up on a professional level?

Is "Whitmore's Shining Star" a prophet?

Is Whitmore's Shining Star a former student at Whitmore? Yes, I think so.

Also think the poet is probably a "she."
The poetry reveals a lot that probably went on at Whitmore, and reveals many truths, but lacks details.
The poetry is upsetting to many former students, especially when others are "named" in the poems.

The poetry is well written, uses the same rhythm, stance structure in most of them, is very personal, and filled with emotions.

A Prophet? Don't know what that means.

General Mills' Cocoa Puffs are good for me.

Jordan didn't like them, he can see.

I liked my carrots boiled extra long.

But Annaliese didn't give me the chance.

I was locked up in the closet most of the time.

While they made my favorite, chocolate brownies with polka-dot sprinkles.

You have alluded to an abusive situation at Whitmore.
Former students  have commented on your poetry, and have called you names, and have outright said your poetry was filled with lies.
What do you have to say?

It is strange: Howbizzare spent lots of time defending Cheryl and Whitmore, and the poetry is in direct conflict with that. Who's kidding whom here?

I just looked back and I can't find a whole lot of Howbizzare defending Cheryl.

I think you're looking to make more of the Whitmore than what's there and to paint anyone who disagrees w/ you w/ the same broad brush. That's a logical and a tactical mistake.

There's plenty there to actually be concerned about. Several different people now have spoken of what seems to be systematic neglect of the animals, ouside of the Canadian horse issue. That's somewhat disturbing in it's implications.

And we're only beginning to get down to brass tacks (hopefully) about why these kids react w/ such malice to even minor criticizm. I can't blame a kid for failing to grasp the implications of something like subliminals. Isn't that a lot like the way my religious teachers used to insist on morning prayer every day? There's not a whole lot of difference there. But there is some, maybe some worth discussing.

You should be allowed to do whatever you want with your own person and property, as long as you don't physically harm the person or property of a nonconsenting other.

From my daughter's reports, Subliminals went way beyond a "morning prayer." This ritual was mandatory, and any and all privileges were withheld is you did not lay in your bed and listen to these recorded messages faithfully every morning upon waking. A "perfet" watched, and recorded if you accidently fell asleep, and then reports this indescretion to Cheryl.  A written report is part is the weekly weblog, and any student who did not abide by the rules and listen faithful is reported under the Title: SUBLIMINALS.  This is one of Cheryl's most important rituals at Whitmore.  [ This Message was edited by: Joyce Harris on 2006-04-01 10:13 ]

No one was mistakenly identified as someone else. The poet clearly said that they WERE Chris Corkalo. There was no misunderstanding. It's been proven a blatant lie.
