All about the kids
« on: April 18, 2003, 03:49:00 PM »
I am marrying into a pretty big family. Jonathan has 1 brother, and 2 sisters. They are all married and have children. For years it has been quiet little holidays at home, just us. With the occasional trip to the in-laws. My life is taking a big turn. I love it. To me his family is like the family I?ve never had. A dream come true. This should be interesting.

Easter is my daughter?s favorite holiday. All of my closest friends have kids, and nothing is more fun than dyeing Easter eggs with them. Except hiding eggs from them! It?s these times when I become a kid again. I like bunnies and flowers and candy. I can understand why it?s her favorite. It?s the perfect time, when Spring has arrived. Does anyone else like to garden and plant things? I love growing things. I have indoor plants too.

Last night when Jonathan went to class, instead of staying at home, Xy and I went out to eat, and afterwards, had Jello for dessert. Jello Biafra that is. He spoke for 3 hours. He was good, and even had Xy laughing a few times pretty hard. At about an hour and a half in, she falls asleep next to me. We were in the front, but off to the side, sitting on the carpet. He called an intermission, and at that time I gave him a T-shirt I'd screen printed, with  Wes's web address on it. I customized it by including: 'Straight=Crooked' on the front (the web-site under), and 'straight inc, Survivor' on the back. He looked at it and said, "Cool, thanks." So whatever... Maybe Jello will be seen with a Straight inc Survivor t-shirt on! Stranger things have happened...
After Jonathan's class let out, he arrived at the college, where we were, to pick us up. Xy woke up, so I left before he was finished speaking. Luckily, he was talking about something I'd heard him speak about at that point. "All about the kids."

T-shirts? That's a really good idea!
Imagine walking in the mall and seeing someone with a Straight Survivors t-shirt on. Are you selling them?  Do they look professional?

They are done with professional t-shirt ink and made with a professional printing screen. (a friend of mine used to work at a print shop) They are free (except for postage) E-mail me if you want one and I'll give more details.

I made them so that people who don't know about, have been in themselves, or are considering placement for their child, are more knowledgeable of abusive schools and rehabs. They also say: "Straight inc. Survivor", (or can if you want) So another Survivor might recognize you.

BTW Bob, is this bumper sticker yours? I brake for children fleeing abusive drug re-habs with 'thestraights' web address?
