Ginger, I don't believe for a minute that the Suds ever believed one kid could care for all those horses and dogs.
I have had horses and I know how much work just my two were. I was more or less alone in caring for them, and I 'bout killed myself one especially bad winter, just trying to keep them a clean, dry barn - Never mind the work of keeping them fed and watered!
It really did wear me out bad and it actually took most of the next summer to recover; but my horses came through it looking great.
It is very hard work and there is no way one kid can care for all those animals!
Anyone who has kept horses would know this. This includes the Suds.
But as for why the kid reacted as he did, I agree completely.

BUT...remember HOW LONG those horses were alone up there in Canada before this "former foster child boy and his wife and new baby" even showed up in Canada."  Mark Sudweeks left those horses and dogs ALONE up there in the dead of winter with NO ONE in charge of them.  The "care taker" was delayed in getting up to Canada...those animals were ALONE.

Still want to know about Casie's horse that died October 2004 in Nephi....of "colic?" Who was watching after that horse while everyone was off to Lake Powell for a month or so????
Seems the Suds and horses just don't mix.

Anonymous:
The Suds have time to SLAPP a lawsuit on an 18 year old former student regarding this girl's OWN horse. Why not the time to explain about this DEAD horse?

If they believe that, through some miracle, they alone can provide therapy to 40 or so troubled teenagers, why not that one or two really good Whitmore kids, blessed w/ such miraculous Whitmore powers, can winter a herd of horses?
When he [Califano] claims that the voters of Arizona and California did not know what they were voting for when they supported the two initiatives, he reminds me of the way Serbia's President Slobodan Milosevic reacted to recent election results in that country.
