Dallas in '90 also

I was in the Dallas Straight in the Fall of '90.  "Jeff from Houston" - sounds like you were there then...??? Anyone else?

Just found this site the other day. Glad to know everyone else hated it as much as I did. I was only in about 4 months; spent the majority of that on 1st phase. I was a headgamer, which got progressively worse for a while after I left.  It still creeps up on me now and then, but I've learned to recognize it and ignore it, instead of going nuts worrying.

Straight Sucked!

Yeah.... I'm pretty sure I was there. I woke up 3 days ago & this Straight place was all I could think of it's been years since I thought about my demons. For some screwed up reason I decided to hunt them down today.

Straight to hell

I believe so, but only through your name for now, my memory of people from Straight has been void for years.  But if I'm not mistaken, your Mother & my Mother had some kind of sponsorship together when I was tossed into the fire.... Parental Oldcomer/Newcomer crap.  My Mother was always a part of the Houston group even when she moved to Dallas to open up a concentration camp(the Miller home). Straight made it a permanent girls home & I only got to stay at it a few days a month. You may have camped out at it a couple times in 1990? It was right next door to Sessy White's house this always made it a popular place because, cop outs who wanted to jack with Phasers had only 10 feet distance from Window to Window to taunt & have fun.

Nope, dont remember the Miller host home.  I was permanently at the "Pheonix" host home, which was originally a guys place and then my host sister's mom moved in there when she left her husband or something.  I hated it, it was an apartment...and a shitty one at that.

How long were you there?

My best guess is:

APR/MAY 1990 / AUG/SEP 1991

I think I Graduated in 14/15 months. So this has to be close.

Jeff - did you have a brother in Dallas also?
Carmel - I think I know what apartment host home you're talking about - I'm trying to remember you but it's not coming to me.  One thing I remember about that apartment (near Christmas time I guess) was the mom playing Elvis' "I'll Have A Blue Christmas" one Sunday or something. She was pretty nice compared to the other Host Moms...

Yeah, I remember Jeff and Chris Upshaw.  Jeff and his now wife, Melissa Gilchrist (she was there too) now live about 5 minutes from me.  They have 3 kids together now.  Very sweet kids.
