my opinion on elan is alot of shit went down there that no one will ever forget. all the curupt shit will eventually come back to haunt all those involved. I hate that it is a humiliation program and instead of helping depressed kids....alot of times they only made them feel more hopeless. my situation was different becasue once i turned 18 i had a family to return home to, but i witnessed a lot of things that i wish i hadnt. As for the staff....i had my good times with them and of course the bad. I did meet good people there as far as staff that did want to help kids but were involved in the wrong program. I cant change what i have experienced, but all i can do is move on and not be that loser that everyone makes you out to believe you are. The one thing that keeps me tied to elan is waiting to see some of my best friends again.

Wow! Sounds rough! I was in E-7 in the early 90's and although it wasn't a picnic in the park or anything, there wasn't any abuse going on! What sort of abuse and corruption are you referring too? I know that right before I got there a lot of kids were smoking pot, maybe doing a little coke with the nightguard, but somehow they managed to crack down on it all, and while I was there things were pretty tight. But abuse? I'm not sure what you mean, please explain?
