Any St Pete and Atlanta survivors?
« on: June 06, 2003, 07:36:00 AM »
My name is George Duncan and I just registered.  I started off in the Morgan Yacht building in June 1980 and 7-stepped in Atlanta January 1982.  Anyone here from that time period?

I went into ATL in April of 82 and can remember you from the back of group. You were generally funny and a reminder that life did continue. (Thank God)

George,

I went to Straight in Sept. 82. Good to see more Atlanta people.

You probably wouldn't remember me, because I never got off first phase.  Were you around when Travis Crow and some of the others caught hell over doing drugs?  Just curious, since you were seven-stepped, I thought you might know.

Regards,
Charlie

Charlie- After I 7S I would come home from college on the weekends and I would stop by on Friday nights AFTER open meetings.  I seem to remember something about that.  You may be interested to know that Travis is doing well- married Jenny Milnichuk (maybe you remember her brothers John & Richard) and they have 2 girls.

George - Which one was it that had that really bad motorcycle wreak, John or Richard. I can remember their mom bringing it up sometimes, but never really had the courage to ask. Also, There was a male Jr. Tracy something. What was his last name and do you know how he is doing?

Oh yeah, what about Dean Keenan?

St. Pete, Dec '78 to Feb or March '80.  Miller  hadn't taken full control of the program yet, and Ms. Peterinhermouthman was still the wicked witch of the west.  1st and 2nd phase rap w/her was also pretty blunt and often brutal.  My third day was terrible.  Do y'all remember in 1st and 2nd phase rap where phasers from 1 - 14 days would stand up say their name, age and drugs adn then often, just sit down?  Esp in St. Pete in the lates '70's when we would many newcomers in the group.  I got may ass introduced to Straight on my third day....it sucked to say the least.   Anyway, I got off track; glad you found the site.  Welcome.

CLay- John was the one who had the accident- really messed him up.  Haven't spoken to him in years.  The last I heard, Richard was working for Mindspring which became Earthlink.  Tracy Fredericks is the staffer you're referring to and I have no idea about him.  DK sounds familiar but can't place him.  Did you know the Hollingsworth boys, Brian Beatty, Shannon Zuelke, Rick Pumphrey, Peggy Oliver, John Muller?

I remember John, he was on Staff in Cincinnati for a while.  I would like to contact him if possible.

Ooops, I got ahead of myself and didn't see the post about John's accident.  I hope he's okay.

Hollingsworth rings a bell but I can't place them. I remember Ricky quite well, but have had no contact with him since he left staff in the mid 80's. John  was a roommate of mine up until I left ATL in 88. We was an exec then and always quite serious. He was also going through a divorce at the time. Haven't heard from him either. I had a brass bed that john ended up with, but I don't begrudge it. I owed the other roommates money with I left and he took the bed in lew of payment.

OH MI FGUCKING 1982 GAWD!!!
I know you.
Every name you mentioned is a multipage story of my life when sent to ATL for being a shit in ST Pete.
Travis Crow....if you can make contact with him or Jay, I would be in debt to you.
Rick Humphries was a pinhead jr staffer when I split out the last time, in Dec of 82, and got my parents to let me come home to Fl.  Rick calls my parents at like 11pm, on the most dramatic day of my life after 2 + years in that hell, and he starts twisting their asses about giving in and all the "party line" crap.  My mom told him to take a hike.
He was a newcommer in St Pete.  Sportin one hell of a mullet his first day!!

Bill- You're thinking of Rick Pumphrey.  I went to high school with him and I remember that mullet the day he walked in!  I ran into him a few years ago while mtn biking at Tsali in NC.  He had been in CA for several years working in the computer industry and I think he moved back.  Regarding the Crow's, my mom and Ann Crow are friends, so e-mail me at gduncan@bwibooks.com if you want to get in touch with them.
