No, I do not feel that Elan helped me. I went to Elan with a drug problem, and I left Elan with a myriad of problems that are unresolved and that I have to live with every day. Elan is a destructive, manipulative, and humiliating institution that is a far cry from a place that should provide rehabilitation. The staff at Elan lack the knowledge and experience necessary to effectively assist the Elan residents in their efforts to overcome the problems that they face. Most of the staff at the Elan school do not have degrees in fields related whatsoever to drug abuse, emotional instability, depression, or any of the other plethora of problems which they claim the Elan students are plagued with. Moreover, as a result of their own ignorance, the Elan staff fails to encourage significant improvement in the lives of the Elan students; rather, they actually encourage further trauma and emotional instability in the lives of the kids who reside at the Elan school. In addition, there are individuals, employed by the Elan school, who are deceitful, money and/or power hungry people who ultimately provide a severe disservice to the Elan residents and their families. Many of the staff at the Elan school lied repeatedly to my family, to me, and to my friends. How does this type of immoral and unethical behavior encourage improvement, in my life or the lives of others, of any kind? I am only sorry that I did not voice my true opinion long ago. I would never send my kids there, and if I ever have the opportunity or money to do so, I would have the Elan school shut down
