Here's the problem as I see it- we don't have any proof of what happened to us- at least I don't have any proof other than what other students will testify to. Additionally, for me, it was approximately 11 years ago- wouldn't the statute of limitations have run out? :???:

I hope someone has something intelligent to respond to the above post. It would be helpful to many people for many reasons.
There are many exceptions for "statutes of limitation".
Uhhh. I think.

The questions regarding the statue of limitations would be best answered by
PIXIE's Lawyer.  Pixie ask him and let us know
what he says.

Remember that a civil lawsuit is much different than a criminal investigation in that the burden of proof is not necessarily on us, but rather on cedu to prove that our allegations are untrue, and also to provide an alterior explanation as to why we are really suing (meaning they would have to convince the judge that we are suing them for the wrong reasons).

Documentationm is a problem, as most of us had no way of documenting the abuses that we endured at cedu. However, please remember that cedu has already been sued by several former students and either settled out of court or had judgements made against them.
(Pixie) If your lawyer intends to sue on similair grounds as to the lawsuits that cedu already lost (as I believe he would), then these past judgements and/or settlements will add significant weight to your claims.

Pixie, it will help us all if you give us a detailed explanation for the basis of your
lawsuit, as well as identify exactly what kind of information you are looking for.  It will be much easier for all of us to help you, once we have more facts.

Other than that, my advice would be to line up as many witnesses as possible.  The more mouths we have telling the same story, the greater the chances that our story will be believed.  It also wouldn't hurt if we could get a few of the former cedu staff who post here to lend their view as to how things work on the other side of the fence.

Thanks Pix, for going to the trouble.

Serb says we need more info and we do. But we should gather all the info without laying our cards on the table.

I'd like to know who the lawyer is and would like some answers, if possible, about the statute of limitation and burden of proof/necessity of solid, strong evidence. Pixie- is there any way for you to post the lawyers info here so that we can get in touch with him ourselves?

Okay- you offered....

1) is there a statute of limitations?
2) how much evidence do we need? will our stories be enough? Will others corroborating our stories be enough?
3) what is Cedu's standard protocol for handling lawsuits? What have the lawsuits been about? What have they settled for?

Which school did your husband work for? When?

i would hope this lawyer everyone is talking about is not todd reed at sandpoint legal.  he tells people hes won a ton of cases, but ask any client who has used him and im sure you will all get the same advise as me not to use him.  His winning several cases was actually one, and there was a different lawyer in his firm in charge of the case.  He makes promises and misses deadlines.  within 4 weeks of leaving a suit with him some time ago, i had a new lawyer and a settlement.
