I was there from that era. If the name is accurate I remember you. Wow, you were pretty hardcore in the program. Sure you want to talk to us? Anyway no hard feelings from me (as one of your "newcomers")
Hope life is treating you well...didn't you cop-out then have some write up in the paper? Anyway there are several of us here from that time.

But I was in Atlanta, 1984 timeframe...

Are you originally from North Carolina?

In Germany they came first for the Communists, and I didn?t speak up because I wasn?t a Communist. Then they came for the Jews, and I didn?t speak up because I wasn?t a Jew. Then they came for the trade unionists, and I didn?t speak up because I wasn?t a trade unionist. Then they came for Catholics, and I didn?t speak up because I was a Protestant. Then they came for me, and by that time no one was left to speak up."

I remember you now. I emailed you. You are right, you could do no right in the program. When you would try to comply, you were told you were fos. That sux, but you weren't the only one, but yeah, staff seemed to like giving it to you a little harder than the others. That must have been very frustrating. Straight was never known for its fairness. They loved putting peoples personalities in little boxes, "fos" is an abusive box to put a 14 year old in, don't ya think?

Now that you are 29 years old, you have probably learned alot about yourself that Straight could never teach you. We just have to learn to ignore people with bad advice, and they are everywhere, so Lookout! :scared:

I concur...trust your instincts. All of us from the program can sense and smell lies and things of that nature...vibes...body language..
I can almost tell someones lying when they start to tell it...
Its not a factual "I know this blah blah" kind of thing but an uneasy "somethings amiss"

Kind of like that feeling you get when you misplaced something you just had...and keep looking n the same spot over and over...

Bad analogy? perhaps...hard to put into words though..Im sure Im not the only one that reads vibes after the program...
I feel like a people doppler...

More and more I find myself a little more reclusive than the last year...
I have had 2 visitors to my home in the last 2 or 3 years...
and have visited noone...I rarely answer the phone and never call anyone...

Other than my girlfriend I am a total recluse...

Hi Chris,
I was the first anonymous to post I was your newcomer. After reading the posts back I think I came across the wrong way. I pretty much look on the whole experience as we all handled things in our own way. Some misbehaved some became oldcomers, others flip-flopped back and forth. In the end we all just did what we thought we had to. The point is I remember you and your Mom the host home. I also remember you misbehaving and being an oldcomer (I was there a long time also.) Welcome aboard!

I would like to find out who you are if you don't mind...  Like you said we all had to do what we thought we had to do.  You may email me if you would like.
