my advice to you is to do everything you can to educate the parent about the school. i went to vca for 2 years and it is like a religious cult. the staff is very radical and strict about their religious beliefs. students at vca feel an extreme amount of pressure to believe in what the staff preaches. and we had to listen to them preach so much that most of us "ex-victory girls" as we call ourselves, really did get brainwashed into believing it all. we were forced to go to church 3 times a day every day. now tell me thats not brainwashing. IF THERES ANY OTHER VCA GIRLS THEN REPLY!!

when i read the postings for the other "hell" schools, I wonder why not one "ex-vca-girl" has told the truth about our treatment.  these schools must be stopped.  too many attrocities to even mention in one forum.  all you girls who continue to remain brainwashed by this cult, listen up: just because things didn't happen to you, DOES NOT mean they didn't happen at all.  watch yourself before you start calling people liars without all the info.  in many cases it was you who were the enablers.  

any parent out there reading this: YOUR CHILD IS YOUR RESPONSIBILITY!  DO NOT GIVE UP AND PASS THEM OFF TO STRANGERS! HOW WORTHLESS AS A PARENT CAN YOU BE TO JUST WASH YOUR HANDS OF THE SITUATION?  ALL THE WHILE YOU TELL YOURSELVES YOU ARE DOING IT FOR "OUR OWN GOOD". . .WHO REALLY BENEFITS FROM THAT TIME AWAY?  YOU GO ON AHEAD AND KEEP TELLING YOURSELVES YOU ARE DOING THE RIGHT THING, WHATEVER HELPS YOU SLEEP AT NIGHT.

i am no longer scared of what people might think of my opinions, or if they believe me at all.  i am tired of the nightmares.  it's time to do somethimg about them!  here's my email address if you need more information.

I was at Victory in Ramona, CA a very long time ago.  I am looking to talk with anyone that was in the California school or in the first days of the Florida school.

It's been over 16 years since I was first sent to Victory.  That was in 1988. I was 13.  I will be 30 in a couple of months.  25 years sure is a long time!  It hasn't been that long for me, but it's definitely many lifetimes ago.  How are things now for you, 25 years later?

Wha wanted to know about an artist? At VCA in Jay, there was a great artist, Kelly Rockwell. I remember her art supplies and some drawings got burnt in the dorm 3 fire (Later it became Little & Mrs. Bro. Browne's room)..
