We were all told to be grateful in Straight just because we were still breathing, blah, blah, etc.   For reasons unknown to me viewers of protestors seem to think that means they are unhappy with life and have problems.
pro-life people are fighting abortions because their unhappy??  legislators and lawyers ligitate laws because their life sucks?  so-on and so-on.
The thing is some people are just tring to make the world a better place, here and abroad.
In the past I spent hours, days, months and years in some cases tring to explain Straight to people.
Their rules and techniques were so off the wall that noone can get a full grasp of the place without experience in there.  My hope has been a reenactment on film to tell the story.  I think that's the best way for people to see what we have tried to describe.

Well when I went to straight I had gotten drunk a whopping 3 times of my PARENTS ALCOHOL and smoked marijuana here and there....that was it.
Hardly an addict in my book. No I checked myself in after a straight rep came and talked to me and my family and told us it was the best program to help me deal with my depression and family problems...HA!

Nah my problems werent drug/alcohol related. The drugs camre after straight...after I sat in a chair for a year at 12/13 years old saying and hearing over and over and over "Im an addict"
I believed it eventually and lived the role..

Moore's latest film was crap. With the omissions and lies he made, people who were on the fence about Bush may discredit everything in the film (which had some merit). I do not like Bush and I am not a conservative, but I believe Moore did more harm to the anti-Bush cause than good. If a documentary is to be made about STRAIGHT I would prefer it to be done by someone with integrity and credibility. Both of which Moore seems to have left by the wayside in his latest film.

I feel dopey for suggesting the MM exposure on another thread, not having noticed this thread.

The one calling people "leftist commie fools" obviously didn't spend any time as a victim of these ridiculous programs. If they had, they would also be left of center by virtue of the fact that the right is directly responsible for all the suffering we went through.
