I think I heard somebody mention this befor, but does anybody here go to bed every night with a glass of water by their bedside? I have done this ever since I escaped from Straight. It seems like most of the time I was there i was dying from thirst, and at night I wake up often feeling dehydrated even though I am not. I remember as a newcomer always feeling this way at night and felt like I was dying until morning when I could brush my teeth to get a drink of water. To this day every night I wake up thirsty as hell, but now I have water at my bed side,....

I used to make sure that there was a glass of water beside the bed, and probably for the same reason. I also still drink lots of water daily. Probably about a gallon per.

water is good for the human organism.  I hear its good to drink six or more cups of whole water daily.

That you put it by your bedside because of past treatment is of no consequence, although you might check to see what happens psychologically if you deprive yourself of the control mechanism.

I used to have a friend who would do that, she would get parched at night and wake sometimes to drink, she would drink it in the morning cos she was thirsty but still too sleepy to go for kitchen juice.  Unfortunately I had to have the pound put her to sleep recently.  Just kidding.

Do you live in Midland Texas?   If so I heard the water in Midland tastes foul because of the Bush family and their friends are so full of shit that it finds it way into the aquifer.

I need to have water by my bed every night too. But this is the best part- I need to take water to my therapy sessions. And for the first month or so I didn't even realize that I needed to or why. One day I forgot my water and was running a bit late. I was sweating bullets at the thought of spending one hour in therapy without water. I decided to stop & get some & be late. My fear about not having water surprised me so I mentioned it to my therapist. We poked and prodded. I just didn't get the relevance of it. I can actually forget to drink water all day. I've just not been in the habit for twenty some  years. Finally I told him I didn't know  why I just needed it,  just in case. And  he said "yeah just in case I lock all the doors, shut off the air, force  you to exercise and not allow you water".

In my subconcious, therapy = danger
 requires
protection  = water

I still take water to therapy. It just makes me feel better.
