Cult Leaders and Con Men-The Miller Newton story
« on: June 05, 2004, 09:12:00 AM »
The American Family Foundation has decided to sponsor an annual lecture to honor the memory of Margaret Singer.  I have been asked to deliver the initial lecture at next weekend?s annual conference in Edmonton, Canada.  My topic will be ?Cult leaders and Con Men-A Case Study.?  My intention is to tell the story of Miller Newton?s rise and fall.  I will be showing the attendees videos of ?motivation,? ?belt looping,? as well as excerpts from some of Newton?s talks and from the testimony presented at Lulu Corter?s trial.  I will do my best to explain the techniques and personal qualities that enabled him to fool so many people and do so much harm to the families that trusted him while operating what amounted to a private jail.  Phil Elberg

forgive me for not knowing, but who is Margeret Singer. I'm happy to hear that you and other people are doing good work to continue keeping Miller Newton down.

An individual who should survive his physical death is beyond my comprehension, nor do I wish it; such notions are for the fears or absurd egoism of feeble souls.

The site mentioned above has a database of articles and facts about all kinds of possible cults.  Spent a lot of time reading.  Very very interesting.  Awesome site.  Thanks for link.
