I live where it happened, and I have lived in Pinellas County all my life. This area sucks! For one thing, young Kyle had to walk along a trash shrewn shoulder of Highway 19, one of the worst roadways in the country just to get to the damn "miracle" window panes. He did'nt have a sidewalk to travel on because the gov't is too damn cheap to put them in. He also had an excellent cover of darkness because the lighting contractors on that stretch of road fucked up and purchased lights that were not compatable with the streetlights further up the grid.
Where that kid lived, there were no recreation centers to speak of, the bus service sucked, riding a bicycle to get where you're going requires a serious death wish due to the high volumne of traffic, in short there is not much to do to stay busy. Add to that the fact that he was in the crappiest foster care system in the world with at least 10 kids a year losing their lives to abuse and neglect and it's no wonder he did'nt take his anger out on an innocent bystander.
I don't condone what he did. It kind of pissed me off that he turned a once ridiculous media frenzy over the "Miracle Virgin Mary" windows and turned it into cause for martyrdom. All it was was a little oxydized iron and magnesium from the well water that hit the windows every morning when the sprinklers came on. This sort of thing happens every day in thousands of buildings across the Tampa Bay area, only in this particular case, the building was up for sale. Some miracle........can you say KKAAA-CCHHIINNNGG?
