living in the area where you served time

It's strange still living here sometimes.  When I was being threatened with having my kids taken, I went to some AA meetings.  Within a few weeks I had met about 8 people who had been in Straight at one time or another.  I've met 3 mothers of my kids friends that were in at some point.  It's really strange to be having a conversation with someone and pick up on a few phrases or points of view and BAM....you just know[/b] they were in there.  The last time it happened was a few days ago.  I was talking to another mom and we ended up talking in general about our parenting philosophies.  They were so similar, especially in the 'letting them make their own mistakes' line of thinking.  Sure enough, she was there when Straight very first opened up.  Small, small world.

After all, who wouldn't prefer Middle Earth, unless they've been corrupted by a Ring of Power?

I would actually love to run into someone who had been in Straight or a Straight.

Being in NY nobody around here has and the chances of me running into someone who has are slim to none.

I wish I could, until finding this place I never talked about it with anyone who experienced it. Strange, it definately was a one of a kind experience. Something I would love to chat with someone with. Bummer.

Any Irishman who doubts the reality of selective enforcement ought to take just a moment to comtemplate the etymology of the term "paddy waggon".

or those who understand, no explanation is necessary; for those who don\'t, none will do
