Ladies and Gentlemen,
I understand that some of you may have some questions regarding our project. These are all fair and quite reasonable questions so i'll try to address as many as i can here.
Firstly-
security and confidentiality.
As with any new 'product' we would like to be the first to market, as it were. You have all heard of 'industrial espionage?'
Stolen secrets and such? Our project or 'product' is no different from a new 'widget'. So until its ready for release, we must keep a lid on progress. I'm sure you will all understand.
We also feel, due to intel from the 'grapevine,' that there may be entities that would use what they know about our project to sabotage it in some way, or otherwise prevent production or release, by tying us up in court. Naturally, we want to avoid the unpleasantness of litigation, however, you cannot sue over the truth. So great care is being taken to ensure that nothing but the verifiable, corroborated truth ever makes it to a final cut.
Some may try to scare us by leaking intel of secret plans to tie us up in court for so long that we will run out of money and be forced to go away!
Anything can happen. Nothing of which will disrail us, however. We are well-funded, well-connected and have a crack team of Philadelphia lawyers at our beck and call. We hope we won't have to go to war over this.
Besides..the stories we are telling are not ours. They are yours. We are providing a camera and a forum and an edit with all the trimmings.
Its your stories, good or bad.
Secondly-
The names of the participants are known only to other participants and crew who have signed a very comprehensive release and confidentiality agreement, violation of which, subjects one to severe penalties under the law. Signing this is mandatory, to be in or work on our film.
As far as our intentions to make money on this are concerned, forget it! Documentaries rarely recover expenses let alone make a profit!!
