3 teens in custody for suspected abuse in boarding school

Youhts arrested for allegedly sexually abusing fellow students.

Three teens were arrested on Sunday night on suspicion of sexually and physically abusing several fellow students at their boarding school for at-risk pupils in the Jordan Valley.

The Judea and Samaria subdistrict police said officers from their youth crimes division arrested the three 16-yearold suspects, two from Jerusalem and one from Immanuel in the West Bank – after they received a complaint from the parent of one of their classmates, who said he had been victimized by the three.

The abuse reportedly took place over the course of a few months, and at no time did police receive a complaint from teachers or administrators at the boarding school, or from any of the other students who it is thought knew about the abuse allegedly taking place.

On Monday the three teens were taken to the Petah Tikva Magistrate’s court, where their remand was extended by a further 24 hours.

At the courthouse, Ch.-Insp. Ilan Malcha said police believe that in addition to the alleged emotional, physical, and sexual abuse, the suspects apparently also forced their victims to buy them drugs and carry out property crimes for them.
