Suicide prevention plan for teens:
- Do not sexually abuse them.
- Do not beat them up.
- Do not force them to go to a school with eople they hate so they can learn about stuff they don't care about and be humiliated. Let them choose their own manner of education.
- If they have a drug problem, find them some appropriate help of their choosing.
- If they report being abused, find them help of their choosing and do not force them to return to the abusive situation.
- LISTEN to them and BELIEVE them.
- Do not force them to take any kind of psychiatric drug or to see a psychiatrist/ psychologist.
- Give them time and freedom to pursue their own interests.
- Let them know that mediocrity is perfectly acceptable.
- Do not commit them to mental hospitals.
To that I would add:
- Don't warehouse them in BM facilities.
Do all this stuff and count the suicides! You'll see what a difference it makes.
