I copped out 3 times.
1. The first time I was in a host home as a second phaser. They put me and another 2nd phaser together in her home with 3 newcomers. I had one of the newcomers in one bathroom and she had the other two. The three of them had decided they were going to cop out that night. So when me and the other girl went back to the room, somehow I was approached separately. I said hell yeah I wanted to cop out. We pretty much forced the last girl to cop out with us. I think the host mom was addicted to prescription drugs because she didn't notice her keys were gone which gave the daughter the chance to unalarm the window. Then she never checked the window. So here's the 5 of us walking down the road at night in Grand Prairie, TX. We got picked up by a couple of guys that night. I smoked a joint with them in front of the other girls. The other 2nd phaser caught up with her boyfriend the next day, the 4 of us got picked up by the cops. But I was 17 and not court ordered, so I was released. Only to be picked up by 3 dads later that day. I didn't fight because the 2nd phaser hooked me up with this psycho who had a gun and wasn't afraid to use it. I don't think that 2nd phaser ever came back.
2. What was only like 2 weeks later, I was trying really hard to have an honest program and so I was doing my MI and talking about my desire to not be there. Well this time I was at Carmen Y.'s house and she was with a lower phaser and she put me with this girl who had come in after me who was a 2nd phaser. So we're in the bathroom going over my MI and she says to me, "You don't want to be here, do you?" So I was like, "Hell no I don't". So she tells me that we're leaving the next day in the morning and she is going to have Carmen let her watch me. I'm thinking that she's not really gonna cop out and that she's just testing me. So the next morning she's trying to get me to curl my hair and wear perfume, but I keep thinking she's setting me up. When finally she says, "OK, let's go. The alarm on the door will go off when we open it, but don't turn around, just keep running." Again, I'm thinking this is just a set up, when she takes off running. I go out of the bathroom and next thing I know, we're out the front door, and the alarm never goes off. I don't know how long it was before they knew we were gone. We took a bus to downtown Dallas and hung out in the city all day. Her mom came and got her from the bus station and gave me fare for a bus ride home. I called my mom, and thought she was gonna let me stay (Yeah, right!) only to be captured by my big brother and another phaser's big brother, tied up with telephone cord and driven back. I was planning on misbehaving after that one, but Garrett C. was a Jr. Staffer and asked me to sit up just for his rap. How could I say No?
3. I was on 4th phase, writing my 4th step outside of the building one day, and I happened to notice how pretty the wildflowers in the field by the building were. I went for a walk and realized, that I was going to be in big trouble for doing that and just said screw it. I called the parents of a girl who was taken out of Straight who came and got me and offered me a job with their business. But my mom had already sent my brother to come get me and bring me home.
