Open Spam for All
« on: March 05, 2011, 10:17:43 AM »
Might as well change the name of the OFFA...

I realize it is quite impossible for any moderator to keep up with it, so (again), why not implement CAPTCHA?

It works, and does the job automatically, as any admin will tell you...

Thanks in advance!

There is one.  The current "spam" you're seeing is actually hand typed, and there are no advertising links.  I guess somebody missed the spam, which now should be dealt with.  There is a sort of captcha. You now need to type in "fornits" into a box.  It's effective because spam scripts aren't smart enough (yet) to read something and follow instructions as a human would.  If we get more spam, i'll simply change what to enter or make the prompt something like "enter the name of this website".
