Elan's new program for former residents
« on: November 17, 2003, 02:35:00 PM »
Elan is now offering a 6 month program for any person that went through the 18 month elan program. It is a refresher coarse on life skills and the cost's is about $2365.50 a month. You start off as a worker and work your way up as you did when you were at elan. Some priveleges are different then the other ones. For instance, you get to chose what you want for breakfast , lunch, and dinner from a wide selection of a menu. The building Elan will be using is the old elan seven building and the dorms that house the old elan 7 residents. It has been remodeled and updated.
There will be no one guarding entrances and exits as you all are adults and are voluntary enrolled at the program. There is some basic rules that you will have to follow, lights out at midnight,No sexual relationships between other residents,no physical violence and ofcoarse no drugs or alcohol. They will permit you to smoke but only outside of the buildings.
You are alloweed to have cell phones and computers if you so desire to bring them.groups will be run everyday both encounter and static and responsibilites will be given like back in the old days. You can be eligible to have your health insurance cover most of the cost of the stay. After about 30 days of being there they run a spouse group, simialar to a parent group so that problems can be worked out ect.
No word on who the director is that will be in chrge of the house, but from what I hear it wont be the current staff we all knew.basically you will be able to come and go during the day as long as there no groups scheduled.Elan will not start this program until a certain number of people have signed up for it.The program will be open and ready to go by January and they are now taking applications. At the end of 6 months Elan issue's a diploma stating that you went through a refresher coarse and got your life back on track. To quailfy you must be able to afford the monthly amount or have insurance to cover it.

The house you will be staying in will have satilite tv lines and broadband internet connections. You can bring limited amounts of personel belongings as space will be limited.
