What kind of democracy is it when you must be jewish to vote.

Wrong. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Arab_citizens_of_Israel

As of 2008, Arab citizens of Israel comprise just over 20% of the country's total population. The majority of these identify themselves as Arab or Palestinian by nationality and Israeli by citizenship.

There are three mainstream Arab parties in Israel: Hadash (a joint Arab-Jewish party with a large Arab presence), Balad, and the United Arab List, which is a coalition of several different political organizations including the Islamic Movement.

Palestinian Arabs sat in the state's first parliamentary assembly; currently, 12 of the 120 members of the Israeli Parliament are Arab citizens, most representing Arab political parties, and one of Israel's Supreme Court judges is a Palestinian Arab.

Palestinians (arabs without Israeli citizenship, read about Israeli independence if you want more info how this happened) want their own country, that's why they suicide bomb buses and holiday parties and send rockets down onto civilians.

What kind of democracy is it when you must be jewish to vote. Separation between church and state does not exist in Israel. In America you just have to be a citizen to vote. Isreal will be a democracy when palastinians are allowed to vote.
I am not an anti-semite. All I am saying is that Isreal is  not a democracy, at least not the way we practice it here in America. All jews are not isrealies, But all isrealies are jewish in order to be citizens

That is not actually true. There are quite a few Arab Muslim Israelis. They do vote.

Of course outside of Israel proper, none of the so-called "occupied" Arabs can vote, and they are not citizens, they are conquered enemy.

Arabs living in so called Palestine, vote. They have voted for their representatives. In their government.

"Hamas" ring a bell?

If so, then you know they vote.

BuzzKill:
Arab Israelis, both Muslim and Christian can and do vote. They serve in the Israeli government. They have full citizenship.
Israel is in no way a "church state". Most Israelis are as un-interested in matters of faith as are most Americans. It is just as much a  secular society; although one that does attempt to show respect for the faiths that call their home land Holy.

Name me one - just one - Islamic nation that has anything remotely as open, respectful and tolerant in either their society, government or faith?

"Heckled by a lawmaker from Israel's Arab minority, Netanyahu offered a lesson in comparative religion from the lectern.

"Because you asked: Jerusalem is mentioned 142 times in the New Testament, and none of the 16 various Arabic names for Jerusalem is mentioned in the Koran. But in an expanded interpretation of the Koran from the 12th century, one passage is said to refer to Jerusalem," he said."

Name me an Islamic nation where a Jew could heckle the ruling Monarch in a cabinet meeting? One where a Jew would be permitted in a cabinet meeting? Just one where the Jew (or a Christian) would even be allowed to live free and unmolested??

I most certainly can't .Islam in my eyes is an abomination. Anything but holy. But the jews treatment of the palistinians does nothingto help the world view of isrealies. It would have to be like living here in Florida and being at war with Georiga,Alabama and Mimsissippi at the same time. And to think they all worship the the same god. That's insanity!

BuzzKill:
The world view of the Israelis and the "Palestinians" is twisted into a flagrant falsehood by the blind, irrational hate this thread is about.  The Palestinians are not victims of Israel or the Jewish people. They are victims of their own behavior and their own people.  Any study of the actual history makes this abundantly clear.

On a related note -

A quote:
Israel is the laboratory – the test market. Every death, every explosion, every grisly encounter is not a random, bloody orgy. It is a calculated, strategic probe into the heart, guts and soul of the West.

In the Six Day War, Israel was the proxy of Western values and strategy while the Arab alliance was the proxy of Eastern, Soviet values and strategy. Today too, it is a confrontation of proxies, but the stakes are greater than East Jerusalem and the West Bank. Israel in her struggle represents the civilized world, while Hamas, Hezbollah, Al Queda, Iran, Islamic Jihad, represent the world of psychopathic, loathsome evil.

As Israel, imperfect as she is, resists the onslaught, many in the Western World have lost their way displaying not admiration, not sympathy, not understanding, for Israel’s galling plight, but downright hostility and contempt. Without moral clarity, we are doomed because Israel’s galling plight ultimately will be ours. Hanna Arendt in her classic Origins of Totalitarianism accurately portrays the first target of tyranny as the Jew. We are the trial balloon. The canary in the coal mine. If the Jew/Israel is permitted to bleed with nary a protest from the “good guys” then tyranny snickers and pushes forward with its agenda.

Moral confusion is a deadly weakness and it has reached epic proportions in the West; from the Oval Office to the UN, from the BBC to Reuters to MSNBC, from the New York Times to Le Monde, from university campuses to British teachers unions, from the International Red Cross to Amnesty International, from Goldstone to Elvis Costello, from the Presbyterian Church to the Archbishop of Canterbury.

There is a message sent and consequences when our president visits Turkey and Egypt and Saudi Arabia, and not Israel

There is a message sent and consequences when free speech on campus is only for those championing Palestinian rights.

There is a message sent and consequences when the media deliberately doctors and edits film clips to demonize Israel.

There is a message sent and consequences when the UN blasts Israel relentlessly, effectively ignoring Iran, Sudan, Venezuela, North Korea, China and other noxious states.

There is a message sent and consequences when liberal churches are motivated by Liberation Theology, not historical accuracy.

There is a message sent and consequences when murderers and terrorists are defended by the obscenely transparent “one man’s terrorist is another man’s freedom fighter.”

The entire message is well worth reading.
