In Remembrance: Kent State Massacre - May 4, 1970 (4 students killed by National Guard)

in Daily Paul Liberty Forum

Peacefully protesting a war that would never end (sound familiar today? - the war that is, unfortunately, not the protest) 4 students were shot down and 9 others wounded ... in 13 seconds - 67 shots fired.

Unarmed kids - pissed about the war ... being lied to that Nixon was going to end the thing (sound familiar again?) a peaceful protest of the Viet Nam War and the fact that the National Guard had invaded their campus.

This had better never happen again !

The government ordering military to invade their own country. Listen to this audio clip from Kent State U. Radio ...of a tape discovered where the command to fire on the unarmed students is given. (from 2007 I belive)

Please keep this post around for the folks here at DP for May 4 - to remember and never forget.

Nothing at all... oh wait, maybe something has changed.

The song "Ohio" was released only 2 days after the event. Roughly.

It was written the day it happened.

Today, there are no anti-war songs at all. So, that is what has changed.
