How many parents have sued Hyde Schools for abuse?
Probably not so few! I know of four lawsuits right off the top of my head and I'm not exactly plugged in to what's happening there. Each one of them, however, was settled out of court.
One of those cases actually involved contractual obligations. If I recall the case correctly (which I may not), the parents pulled their kid early due to unhappiness with what was going on there, and Hyde wanted to keep the remainder of the year's worth of tuition. Parents claimed that Hyde failed to fulfill their part of the bargain and wanted a
return of tuition. A "mutually agreeable sum" was eventually agreed upon.
NOTE to any potential Hyde parents:
Never ever prepay the full year, regardless of perceived savings! It gets
real hard to get your money back when they already have it in their pockets![/list]
The other three cases all involved sexual assault or sexual harassment of students by faculty.
