Hate
« on: October 06, 2009, 04:57:04 PM »
I spent some time this morning browsing through your forums here doing some research. While I did find a couple bits of interesting information, I had to weed through many angry/hateful messages to get to it.

I can understand being angry, but I feel bad for those who waste so much of their time harboring this hatred. I think truthful facts and figures are important, and that programs or businesses should deal honestly and humanely. But I get the impression from reading here, that many posters are much more interested to see programs burn, or individuals hung, rather than help to find or create real solutions for helping teens.

If anger is your drive, I don't believe you will ever accomplish anything here. After all, who cares about your anger other than you? The people you are angry at certainly don't. If you want to help, create a better alternative, become consultants or regulators, perform studies that show ineffectiveness etc. Talking/whining/complaining is not action, you need to do something. I feel badly for those of you driven by anger/hatred here.

Guest,

Some of us are.  See the concerned parents postings.  We are starting to organize.  Several parents have already joined forces.  If there are people out there actually willing to take action, they can contact us and step up to the plate.

If you are CALO, then you can start too by answering the questions the parents have asked but to date, you have refused to answer.  We don't need to repeat them here, you already know what they are.   May save you alot of money in court too.

To the rest of you, we are here, we are not going away and we could use your help.

Guest, part of the disconnect lies in the basic premise that most, or even many of the teens who land up in these programs are disordered or in need of "help" to begin with. I know this is probably a question you've never seriously entertained. After all "everybody knows" that "...our young people today behave with stereotypical predictability. Like clones stamped out in some satanic laboratory, they share an underlying selfishness and similar ways of demonstrating it." Course, that was written by Phyllis York back in `82 when we were teenagers so she may have been talking about us.

Regardless, the ToughLove hate group has done a wonderful job of propaganda so that most everyone assumes that kids taday must be stopped before they destroy the world!!!!! http://www.toughlove.org.au/ But it's not true. Not any more true than the claim by the Carter company that their little liver pills would cure what ails ya or that every ailment had something to do with the liver.

So you're asking us, many of whom have been abused and permanently damaged to come up with a solution to a problem that doesn't exist. Yeah, I'm still a little bit angry. Who wouldn't be? It's natural and healthy to experience anger when one has been wronged. That doesn't need treatment either. I guess the best solution I can offer you is to find another hobby. Kids taday have had just about all the help they can stand.

First of all facts are ignored like the plaque around here.  When was the last time a study, finding or new statistics was discussed without trying to discredit the source?

Are kids placed in programs unnecessarily, you bet.  It is a problem.  But what about all the other kids who end up benefitting from programs.  What about the kids that need help.  Why not put energy towards coming up with solutions to help these kids instead of tearing things down.  We know local services are not effective for everyone, nothing is 100%.  We need solutions for the kids who are not being helped locally and programs fit the bill right now.  Why bury your head in the sand?

When too many were being hurt in auto accidents intelligent people came up with solutions like seatbelts and airbags.  Getting angry and trying to have all autos removed from the highway isn’t a solution which benefits everyone.  I imagine it would be the choice of those left crippled by an accident themselves.

I like your ideas but Fornits is an anti-program attack website.  There are several members, including Che Gookin, who slander programs without proof.

I think Im fairly convinced that this particular troll who's been dotting the forums with their topic-reflexive username is from CALO.  "Be sure to sow seeds of discord." Psh, yeah, whatever. You obviously haven't been around too long. This place is already one big ball of discord. You're pissing on a battleship.
