Nicole,
I dont know if you had seen my earlier post to you, however, I was in Dallas when all of the So Cal kids came over. Our group was already way over crowded, and when they came, it sort of sent the program over the edge in the way of putting it on track to shut down there as well. There were just too many kids, not enough host homes, and our rules and ways of doing the program were so different, even though it was so similar. It created an EXTREMELY volitile atmosphere. Staff was cracking down hard on everyone, trying to prlong everyones program, I assume because they were hurting for money. More than half our group was on 1st phase, and I would give a conservative estimate of about 250 kids in the program at that time.
I ran from the program about 2 months after the So Cal kids came, I think Dallas finially shut down not too long after. Our left over clients were sent off to Atlanta and Orlando. All the fifth phasers were graduated so I heard, no matter how far along on 5th they were.
Anyway, I honestly believe that those kids being sent over to Dallas was the best thing, because it really started the process of getting Dallas to go under. There were entire DAYS spent restraining kids trying to run. I think that was something that confidentiality just couldnt hide anymore.
