Nissley: Great admiration for Penny Walker
« on: July 09, 2009, 06:54:31 PM »
I know this was posted by Terri way back in February on the topix forum but I think it is very significant in showing the irrational thinking of the woman who is in charge at PFC. Terri's objective: LOOK GOOD. First by distancing herself from KHK and then flopping back to show solidarity in all Straight spinoff programs.

Terri said "we don't claim them" on her TV interview, referring to those of us who had been abused in KHK, BUT when information is presented on the topix forum from a KHK graduate, Nissley seems to change her tune. One important detail Terri chose to twist was that we had people protesting who had been in the Indianapolis Pathway program. Well, you can read the hypocrisy below.

KAM, with your angry response about Pathway and me personally, I felt it important to let you know that the short segment of me that Channel 8 aired was so taken out of context. It made it sound like I was anti- Kids Helping Kids. Quite the contrary. When Kids Helping Kids decided to close their doors in 2005, Pathway was trying to provide treatment to those that still needed it in Ohio. The reporter had asked me about the picketers in Ohio led by Anthony Connelly (Not True)(WDTONY on this posting), and my comment about not claiming them was all about the picketers as Pathway had not treated them. It was not about Kids Helping Kids in general. I have had great admiration for Penny Walker and the Kids Helping Kids organization for 8+ years prior to officially acquiring the Ohio location in the Spring of 2006.

Kids Helping Kids, like Pathway, has had years of saving teens and reuniting families; teens that no one else could help.

Unfortunately, the media likes to sensationalize stories. Interviews were done with current and graduate parents, and current and graduate clients. However, Channel 8 chose not to air what the people actually being served by Pathway had to say. The truth doesn't seem to be important. I'm sorry that the piece that Channel 8 chose to air of me appeared to slam the very organization that was so instrumental in your dramatic life transformation. I am proud of Kids Helping Kids for that and I am proud of Pathway Family Center as we have so many like you that are clean and sober today as a result of our treatment program.
