Relative to the 1988 Scream/Rage/Scorched earth Power staff Tim Brace was relatively mellow.

Sure he fullfilled his weekly mandatory yelling quota but his yelling was a pleasantry compared to the likes of Steve Rookie, Stacy Wasserman, Caroline Wolfe, Randy Eide. (I'm surely forgetting a few other fucknuts...)

Tim was the headmaster. Therfore he wielded ultimate power 24/7. He didn't have to scream. He killed you with kindness.
His stare was his power weapon not his vocals. He'd pull you in under his wing and speak to you of the promised land. These tender little moments fortified your belief in the kool aid master plan. After a special moment with Tim you were enthusiastic about being a model CEDU student and ready to conquer the world.

One of the oldest tricks in the book - good cop / bad cop

I'll fix the list in a bit Dish.. most likely when I'm not here at work with a bunch of 12 year olds looking over my shoulder debating amongst themselves what the word motherfucker means.

** As for Cascade and Running Springs and all the other branches of the CEDU cult that is a really damn good question that I'm curious to find the answer to myself. I think once we do enough leg work here it will be apparent just who and where these ex-ceduites ended up.

If you know of a former CEDUite of one of the other schools ending up starting or working at another program please give us all a heads up. So far its like tracing a ball of yarn. I can't wait till we start unravelling the Aspen connections.

so there's no chance whatsoever that carlbrook is different than these other schools?

It has been confirmed that this Tim Brace guy is there and his methods are still in full swing just under different names.. different lingo put into play...?

Is there any chance that Carlbrook could just honestly be a decent disciplinary school that helps kids...?

Highly unlikely.  I've talked to ex-CB students who report pretty much the exact same practices as happened at CEDU.

Quote
I went to their main webpage.. all of the kids look really happy in the pictures.. It's the nicest looking brainwashing facility I've ever seen.

Yes.  It does look nice.  It's a prep school CEDU.  They have latin names for the propheets to attempt to give quackery a whole new sophistocated sound.

Che:

Patrick Stambusky founded Monarch. CEDU alum, CEDU staff. Now called Patrick McKenna, for unknown reasons.

Holy fucking shit, I had no idea that the Careys and the Kreiders worked at ASR and MBA.

Figures.

Yeah they apparently got around. The research dept(bro) dug up an article saying they went to work for a local elementry school in Idaho for a spell prior to shipping out to ASR. I looked over the site to the school in Idaho and it turned out to be one of those 8 to 1 pm gigs.

The lack of raps must have sent them packing double time.

I think I'll open a page on the fornits wiki for now for the CEDU watch as well. Not sure I have the interest just yet to push a full website. Given my dollars are being spent on travel more and more it makes sense financially.

The following place is especially pernicious, since its target population is "middle-school boys, ages 11-15," a particularly vulnerable and potentially fragile time (get them while they are young). Moreover, it might appear to be relatively easy for such a program to skimp on giving the kids even a shimmer of an adequate education, since they'll be long out of there prior to their anticipated high school graduation.

Re. Cherokee Creek Boys School:

Founders:

Jackson Culotta - "Headmaster / Co-Founder and Mentor"
Former staff and head at RMA (mid 1990s), head at BCA (late 1990s), head at Cascade (2000-2001), and overall CEDU Admin (Idaho schools: RMA, BCA, NWA; mid-late 1990s).
Beth Black - "Co-Founder and Mentor" (also "President / Founder and Mentor" on a later webpage which does not include Culotta)
Former CEDU parent; Jackson Culotta was her son's therapist at either RMA or BCA.
Original Staff (2003) with known CEDU connections:

Ron May - "Manager of Outdoor Recreation / Plant Services and Mentor"
Five and a half years with CEDU, mostly at BCA, last working as a "logistics coordinator" for all three of the north Idaho schools.
Jane May - "Director of Operations / Human Resources and Mentor"
Ron's wife; five years of "financial management and operational oversight of all support service operations" for RMA, BCA, NWA, Ascent, and Milestones.
Genelle Petry - "Director of Admissions / Mentor" (also "Executive Director / Mentor" on a later webpage)
Eleven years experience (in 2003) in "residential/emotional growth schools" including being Admissions Director at Cascade School and also at Mount Bachelor Academy.
Original Staff (2003) with presumed CEDU connections:

              E. Shaler Black - "Administrative Assistant / Mentor"
My guess is that this is Ron and Beth Black's son who ended up in Idaho. I have not been able to confirm this. Contents of Bio appear to have been removed from website.
Jill Culotta - "Family Center Counselor / Mentor"
This is Jackson Culotta's wife. Archiving of Bio appears to have been blocked.
Current Staff (2009) with known CEDU connections:

Beth Black - "Founder and President"
                  See above.
David LePere - "Executive Director"
Met his wife Janine while both were Counselors at MBA; "17 years of experience in therapeutic educational settings" including being "School Director and Executive Director for two therapeutic schools and a wilderness therapy program."
* There are other staff with other program and/or potential-program backgrounds, but which are not discernibly CEDU in origin. Plus... the most recent incarnation of CCBS's website is a bit more... circumspect, shall we say... about background specifics.

Coronado Academy - now defunct (in existence 2000-2004?), but responsible for yet another spinoff, namely New Summit Academy.

                    See details HERE.

Coronado Academy was owned by "Global Prosperity Schools" or by Saul Rudman, depending on source. Perhaps they are the same thing. Saul Rudman has been with CEDU since at least 1992, taking a few years off to run Coronado shortly after acting as Consultant to the Brown Schools/CEDU "merger." Lori Armbruster was another key employee at Coronado. She and Saul had worked together previously in Idaho. Both Rudman and Armbruster went back to work at CEDU or a CEDU spinoff after Coronado. I believe Rudman still does consultant work for Idaho Educational Services (i.e., Ascent, BCA, NWA). Lori Armbruster is currently Admissions Director at Second Nature (as of last year, after she left Monarch).

In an ironic twist of timing, Saul Rudman once did some consulting work for the program in my just previous post, namely, Cherokee Creek Boys School.

New Summit is a direct and philosophical outgrowth of Coronado after the latter went belly-up due to financial reasons. At least three key personnel from Coronado are now the new owners of New Summit. Some students even ended up attending both in 2004, since Coronado went out of business with little warning (gee, where else have I heard of such a scenario with relation to CEDU?  :D  ).

This "twist"' is no longer ironic. Based on a single post in this thread (with now defunct links), I've been able to track down and confirm that Jackson Culotta apparently did some consulting work for Coronado Academy as well. It was/is a mutual admiration society:

                    • Jackson Culotta (Cherokee Creek)... consulted for Coronado Academy (200?).
                    • Saul Rudman (Coronado)... consulted for Cherokee Creek Boys School (2007).

See HERE for aforementioned updated data.
