Gotta hand it to Che, Nicole. Want to know a real dirty little secret about many Program critics? Ok, come close, chile, and listen up good. I prolly won't say this again.
In many, if not most of these programs, anyone who rose above the first or first few levels, let alone graduated, carried out substantially the same abuses on their fellow detainees as staffers did. Very few of that set are willing to acknowledge that fact, instead trying to define an imaginary crisp fine line between client and staff, parent and child, mindless sponsor and direct participant. All of those lines are imaginary. But very infrequently does anyone call a former client on that.
Staff, on the other hand, are really seriously fucked in that regard. If they come forward, they find themselves totally alone and exposed to reprisal from both sides. It takes considerable sack for a former staffer to come forward like this.
