CEDU book
« on: January 03, 2009, 11:41:49 PM »
Hello. I am writing to request that someone write a book about the CEDU experiences in mid 80s-90s.  It should be both subjective and objective in the sense of drawing people into the experience, while at the same time, clearly outlining cultic aspects of this environment. It can't be too self absorbed or it will lose its efficacy.

I would do it except I honestly cannot create a cohesive text. Also, I did not remain in the program, and missed the all out fun fests of the mid to later propheets and workshops.

But, it would help to get it out there, and I would love something tangible and articulate to give my folks.

Is anyone doing this?

I know Liam is doing a documentary, and I also wonder if he is willing to do a pen and paper treatment of CEDU. There really needs to be almost journalistic approach in terms of clearly illustrating the wackery of it all.

Yes.

Frederick Douglas made good use of rendering his subjective experiences in an objective tone, and the result is like asking a rhetorical question. The answer is obvious and untainted by histrionics.

The day has come! The Cedu book is out! It's called THE DISCARDED ONES; A NOVEL BASED ON A TRUE STORY by James Tipper and it's GOOD! I just finished it. Amazing. It reads like a novel, but it is accurate and FULL of detail. The cool part is that it isn't obviously pro or con, but he just lays it all out there and you get whatever you get from it. It's exactly like going there again and it is all through the eyes of a 14 year old boy. The end is great! I don't think I breathed for most of the book. And YES, it is going in my parent's stocking. Now, I'm going to send THEM ther I found it on NOOK, buty it is also in hardcover nd KIndle. Engoy!
