Whaddy think? Which is it: randomly kidnapped by abusive cults because we had abusive parents, or randomly kidnapped by abusive cults which were granted largesse because the govt was interested in exploring brainwashing, facism?

Personally, I'm more inclined to lean towards private sector greed and lust for power as the root cause of things. Maybe the government hand a hand in some things, or took advantage of some knowledge gained, but given the inability of the government to competantly do just about anything, I find it more likely that there is not/was not some vast conspiracy. I'm open to evidence to the contrary, though.

I mean... there isn't anything that happened in program that you couldn't find out from any other cult member or even a book on cults. If the CIA was trying to figure out ways to extract information or influence behavior, they need only read a few books on cults or hire a few cult specialists with flexible ethics.

well corporate greed only explains about half of the story, I do think the government is involved to some extent but not as a separate sponsor of said programs, I believe the program supporters are in the government. There are way too many of them... it may be by ignorance, but for the most part the government seen teens as much as a threat as the parents do.

Explain to me how these programs get away with abusing and brainwashing kids in the first place?

You would think the government would be all over the chance to save a bunch of innocents, but I guess they are too busy saving Israeli innocents to even look into the claims of American innocents. Lets all just pray this is truly the end of an error and the next 4 years will be much more productive in making the necessary changes that our government has refused to make in the last 8.

besides the CIA and the FBI are too worried about 4chan to bother with us.

Just FYI. Don't rely on the government to fix any problems. They usually make things worse. Regualtion hasn't worked in the past and it most likely won't in the future. Programs are too slippery and generally don't give a shit about the law at all. Passing new laws often does little more than give parents a false sense of security. IMO, it's much more effective to fight this industry by educating the public about specific schools and the industry in general. The industry can only survive in an informational vacuum.

Personally, I think the whole idea is more about producing a compliant or, at least, malleable populace. And while I do think there is, and always has been, deliberate governmental involvement, it is not as well-organized or centralized as one might think.

personally i dont think the government is actively involved. i think that they are looking at the end results and trying to find a way to use them but as for active participation no. they let others figure it out than they use it.

its easy when you own the local law enforcement. the programs say it was an accident and the law goes along with it. why rock the boat if the boat is you money boat?

greed is one if not the top reason these places are around now. little or no laws apply to them since they are in a gray area. as for the gov steeping in and helping, why? what money or power is in it for the government? where is the mass out cry of voting people to stop these places? granted we are on here voicing of the injustices of the programs but there are not enough of us to be a concern right now. i feel that there will be a time when we will be heard but not right now. there has to be some big blow up at a program or like a staff going ape and killing some kid and than we will hear it and the out cry for more regulations.

just like the salvia or however it is spelled. it is a gray area and untill it gains mass attention no one will pay much attention to it.
