President: My career experience includes over twenty years as a professional in human resources and labor relations, NEGOTIATIONS AND MEDIATION. Just as COMMUNICATION and RELATIONSHIP SKILLS are paramount in building and maintaining the ?corporate family?, these skills are the basis for building and maintaining our healthy families.
I have experienced the joys and challenges of raising two bright and independent children. My son was in the program as follows: Paradise Cove- Jan. 1997; Spring Creek Lodge ? Apr. 1998; Home ? Sept. 1998. My daughter was in the program as follows: First Youth Discovery/Seattle ? 1997; First Youth Focus/L.A. ? 1997; Spring Creek Lodge ? Aug. 1998; Graduated from Browning Academy and came home ? May 1999.

melanie@nwfamilyvisions.orgPromote and teach the tools of the seminars, integrated with academics to Seattle Public Schools students. I would like program graduates to assist me on a regular basis, as part of their service when they return home.
Vision:
Partnerships- Work in partnership with RESOURCE REALIZATIONS, Worldwide Association of Specialty Programs, CS Landre Foundation, and Teen Help to support families in crisis, as well as families on the road to building a whole and healthy family.
We are working with RESOURCE REALIZATIONS to identify dates for teen seminars (Teen Discovery, Teen Focus, and maybe. . . Teen Visions) in the NW region in 2003....
What we've learned:
While all participants found the one-day Challenge Day seminars in schools to be a moving and valuable experience, our choice to promote a linkage between Challenge Day and RESOURCE REALIZATIONS seminars in the community (such as Teen Discovery) generated a lot of media coverage on Seattle-area talk radio and newspapers that was not particularly complimentary to either program. Ultimately, Resource Realizations (a for-profit training company) and Challenge Day (a non-profit organization) made the decision to not pursue a linkage between their programs.
