Fun time PV contest

Find and post the favorite blurb from your favorite PV staff/moron. This has to be a statement made in the last 3 months.. Links or screen shots must be provided.

The funnier the better.. See Zen's signature for the ideal...

    All,

Please be very careful about anything you post that may involve
personal information. I have recently had an exchange with someone
purporting to be a Randall P. who is spreading some misinformation,
and is probably a CAFETY mole trying to create some havoc. He is not a
parent or Alumni. I am sure that Tim will take care of this, but be
    careful until he does.

    Bob

Snicker, snicker...PV parents had a "false parent" - sorta like a false idol I guess.  Someone asked Bob about his "credentials", and he had a freakout.  It was so bad, he deleted his comments to the False Parent.  Good thing I backed all of it up.  I have a reputation on the PVParents Forum I do not wish to besmirch which is why I cannot reveal the true nature of my identity, y'all.

However, you want sick quotes?  The most godawfulest shit you done never want to hear comes out or the mouths of "true" PV parents.  A misguided lot being led around by Bob Pegler, who does indeed control the PV parents forum.

CAFETY mole?

One other concern - I don't visit sites mentioned by other parents
like cafetty(sp?) that bash Peninsula, I trust my own judgment when
evaluating the Village's treatment.  If you look long enough, you will
always find individuals who have had an unsatisfactory experience with
an ax to grind.  It's the nature of any service organization.  I
received an email from a parent I met in Knoxville at a group that
alarmed me.  The first part of it was from one of the anti-PV sites -
a horror story that seemed riddled with factual errors and
inaccuracies.  The other portion on the letter was a link to
information about the credentials of Bob Pegler, PV's program
director.  If PV were being more forthcoming and honest with the
details of the current changes, I might have filed this with the
lunatic fringe as well.  I now have doubts about PV's practices and
ethics, so I'll present this for an explanation.

This is the first link I was sent, it shows an older cached page of
PV's staff:
http://web.archive.org/web/200608220558 ... e.org/p1...

Mr. Pegler's information:

BOB PEGLER, CAS
Program Manager, Residential Services

Education:
# Certified Addiction Specialist
# Certified ROPES Facilitator

Professional Affiliations/Licensure:
# American Psychological Association & Appalachian Psychoanalytic
Association
# Licensed Psychologist/Health Service Provider, Tennessee

The current PV description of Mr. Pegler's credentials:

Bob Pegler, CAS
Program Director

Education:
# Certified Addiction Specialist
# Certified ROPES Facilitator
# Certified Interventionist

Professional Affiliations:
# Tennessee Association of Alcohol & Drug Abuse Counselors
# National Association of Alcohol & Drug Abuse Counselors

Mr. Pegler is described as a licensed psychologist and health service
provider in the older description, and a member of the respected
American Psychological Association.  His current professional
affiliations have no mention of this.  Bob himself has told me he is
not a psychologist.  My curiosity led me to the TN state gov.org site,
where I ran a license search on Mr. Pegler, and found he has never
held any TN license at all, not as a psychologist or substance abuse
counselor.

This is troubling - I like Bob, he has a warm personality and his
continued presence at the Village during this upheaval has been
reassuring.  My hope is that this discrepancy in his curriculum vitae
can be explained by someone more familiar with the matter.

God bless, have a happy Memorial Day and remember those who gave all.

I can clarify this very easily. I have never been a Psychologist, nor
have I ever presented myself as such. On one of our website updates
the Covenant Webmaster put Barbara Taylor's affiliation and License
under my name, and mine under hers. No one noticed this for a couple
weeks, but when we did we corrected it. I think that someone doing a
history of our site must have noticed this and put it on CAFETY. There
are different types of Substance Abusse Counselors, in this state my
type is a certification rather than a license. I don't think I have
ever misreresented myself, nor has Dr. Taylor for that matter.

Thanks for your reply, Bob, but the problem with the credentials
credited to you ran on the website for two years - not a couple of
weeks.

This information is incorrect, and I believe that there is no such
family member as you claim to be. I believe that you are probably a
CAFETY mole, trying to create some difficulty here for our families.
This is a violation of the spirit of this forum, which I would have
hoped you (whoever you are) could respect.

Tim, please contact me about this as this is not an actual family
member

I beg your pardon?  What are you talking about?  What difficulty am I
causing for the other family members?  We have a right to ask
questions, do we not?  When Dr. Olivera and I speak, you can be sure we'll discuss this matter, as well.

This is unbelievable!

How is that information incorrect?

Again, this person is not a PV family member, and should not be on
this forum. He is lying. I would hope that he would stop posting on a forum that is for the private use of families.

O.K., here's a "focus" - the treatment team gives these to the kids each week, a thing to ponder.  Here's some real Hocus Focus quackery B.S.:

"To be here or not to be here, that is no longer the question.  The question is whether you will embrace the veracity of your confabulations"

-Jibby Redfield/Adam McLain, 2006.

Poets!  My step daughter busted their stones over the ludicrous pseudo-philosophical stylings when she wrote her reaction to the "focus".

Anyone got other choice Hocus Foci?

"Go in there and be his little girl again,"

A PV therapist's advice to a female patient before a forced face-to-face therapy session with her father, who abused her when she was a little girl.

Not funny at all, but indicative of the sensitivity and training of the clinicians at Peninsula Village.  "Mending young lives and restoring families"?  How, with this methodology?  In this instance, PV failed, the session ended abruptly and the father and daughter have not communicated since the girl left PV.  Damage done is clear, but PV has dodged accountability citing "clinical necessity" as a shield for ages.

Che, I realized I'm going outside your original guidelines - some of these blurbs won't have links, if they're from records.  However, it does encourage me to go on a tour of the blogs of PV counselors who have no idea about the professional ethics of their trade.

I think act.da meant to post this here...if not, it belongs here.

Quote from: "act.da"
"Without the care and patience of the doctors and staff at Peninsula
Village, our daughter would be in a very dark, lonely and difficult place."
 -PV Parent

That sounds like STU.

Amber's place
Lies!!!

the whole reason i made this blog is to set so things straight. I just read a blog when i was looking up Peninsula Village, which is an adolesent treatment center, wrote by mokara9*

Some of the things that were said were the truth but she expanded the truth.... to far. My name is Amber. I am from TN. i was also in PV for 18 months and 3 days. i was on the locked unit (STU) for 8 1/2 months. it is aggervating to hear people make up lies about a place that changed your life. Just because this person did not follow the rules and try to help herself become a better person that is not to be put on Peninsula Village.

Amber was the valedictorian of her graduating class at PV... I understand what she is saying up there-it is    aggervating when someone expands the truth. Now that Amber has set us straight lets all go up to the house and put some more duct tape on Uncle Goddamn.

*Mokara9 posts here as FreeWeAreNot, PVisamoneymakingscam, PVisamoneymakingscamagain etc...
