you know how programs are always saying that if you don't work your program that you will end up dead, insane or in jail? and that the people who dropped out always ended up that way? it sounds funny now but at the time a lot of people really believed it.

well i was thinking, how many people actually ended up dead, insane or in jail because of the programs themsleves? more than likely the kid shouldnt of been sent away at all, got traumatized and then was messed up and ended up acting out way worse after getting out. or maybe the kid has a real drug problem and then gets sent to some bullshit program that offers no help at all, then they get out and use drugs worse and die that way. the jail thing speaks for itself, that seems to be the most common one. sometimes i wonder if everyone i knew from the program is now in jail. kind of scary.

the sad part is i think i too will end up with this ironic fate soon enough and not because i particularly want or choose it.  its an inside joke they played on us, and they are laughing all the way to hell. just the fact you were there you are going to end up dead, insane or in jail. im beginning to think thats all it is, some sick self fulfilling prophecy that finds its way to become reality some how. its a great way to keep us all quiet about what really goes on behind closed doors. i used to be scared but have no come to accept by fate. the cursed, we are.

So much about life is dealing with the expectations of others. The trick I'm finding is to seperate the expectations that are important for your immediate survival from the expectations that tend to benefit others. Programs have used that tired broke ass deadorinjailorinsaneortokeduponcheapcrack line for years. Don't pay any attention to that bullshit.

Ginger made me a big believer in the philosphy of Brian in the Monty Python flick, "The life of brian". He said when they were crucifying him to "think for yourselves" and they screamed back, "But we just want you to tell us what to do," and he replied, "Fucking hell just think for yourselves."

So yeah dude... think for yourself. Prioritize your expectations. You decide what is important for you.

Tell the program and everyone else to take a running jump off a cliff somewhere.

"You cut your own deals (in life)".

As bland and innocuous as it reads in print this one has been very useful reminder for me over the last 2 years.

I'll fess up and admit this sage advice comes from Hulk Hogan.

No one is going to hand you shit. If you don't think and do for yourself it should be surprising that you think & act like the pawn they want you to be.
