After about a year at HLA, my parents actually took me to see her (for the first time) and had me tell her what was going on and why I was miserable. She said she was shocked, and admitted that she sends so many to HLA because HLA gives her "incentives" to refer clients to them. She apologized, and my parents yanked me out soon thereafter, but it seems she hardly got out of the game.
