Why did this boy jump and did he survive?  Why was nothing mentioned in any of the news articles?

The boy jumped in an attempt to hurt himself.  He wanted to hurt himself bad enough that they would have to take him to the hospital.  He wanted Dundee to have to notify his parents and he thought that if he were hurt bad enough then they would have to.

This is what is so scary about the WWASP organization.  Just like in the case of the assault and rape that occured at Dundee, they do not disclose to parents that these incidents occur.  It is BAD publicity and it is a testiment to the inherent dangers that lie within these unregulated programs.
