Talking to women insultingly about their dildos, twats, and gutter slutting gives me a surreptitious thrill that I can’t get at home.  Shhh….

Who, the point is: going to college is simple if you’ve the cash, and the will. It shouldn’t be portrayed as “a miraculous recoveryâ€

Oh bullshit.

The reason TheWho can't name any of these "good therapeutic schools" is because he knows that if he does, he'll be shot down like so much skeet. He'd so love to say "ASR" but he knows that this link will get posted.

We now return you to your regularly scheduled trollfest.

PULL!

it seems like you, and the people who dislike you, have similar beliefs in that some treatment facilities are good, and some are bad. the people fighting thewho need to read his posts more carefully.

The admitting that some of the schools are good and some are bad seems to be more honest than most people here.

There was a link to this site suggesting it was a source for finding out more about programs for at-risk teens.  I have a son that I am worried sick about.  I feel as if I am watching him die.  But I can't tell who is even on this site.  Are you parents?  If so I am appalled at the language and attitudes.  Are you students/former students?  Is there anyone there that can give me advice about a school calmly and without name calling and profanity?  Please - I am desperate!

Hmmm..........it is a source for finding out more about programs for at-risk teens. You need to be careful about what you read and believe. Some people on here, are able to be helpful. Some people, are 100% anti-program. Even if your kid was whoring themselves out to get money to support their drug habit there might be people who will tell you to just hang in there, and it's just a phase, LOL!!!!! Obviously, I am not one of those people. I'm sure if you've read through the threads you can tell how I'm not well liked. I have a few supporters, and I also have a few people that can debate with me on a mature level. But, I would say the majority of the people on this board are just filled with hatred, and get off taking it out on me.

Back to your question. I am a former student. I've attended 2 programs, 1 psych hospital, and 1 wilderness trek, run by a former Challenger employee. I am in my 30's, I have no children of my own.

I'm not sure this is where you should be? However, there are schools that you should stay away from. I think if you take the time to go through this site, you will learn some things. But, it's like going through a really disorganized sales rack. Sometimes, you can find something, it just takes forever. Sometimes, it's better just to spend the extra money, and go to the racks that are well organized!

f you were never in a program, or a parent of a child in a program, then you have no business posting here.

Thank you, but after reading many of the posts on this site, including yours, and just imagining the kinds of things they are talking about, I find it safe to say that I will not be considering any of these programs as I don't think I can trust anyone involved with them- pro or con.

Good luck to you.

i remember when you posted your myspace page here, you are a very beautiful young woman and very insightful-you have done well for yourself after such a troubled childhood and adolescence. i dont know why people attack you, but i wish they would stop. ccm is truly the definition of what a survivor is, dont let them get you down.

No, generally what most people are saying is to find QUALIFIED help (if, in fact, its needed and that's a whole 'nother issue.  For most kids, IMHO, its not and they WILL grow out of their destructive behaviors), not the quackery put forth by the mindrape mills.

If I had listened to people like CCM or Who (or my ex-husband or his parents or my father) when my oldest was scaring the living shit out of me, she'd have been in a program.  They were all absolutely sure she was gonna DIE!!!!  She didn't.  She's doing very well, has her CNA and is working towards her LPN and then onto her RN.  She grew up because she had the opportunity to.
