Reading that was like reading the guide to aarc handbook.

I am tired write at this moment and don't really want to go into a lot.

But one thing for sure that they did was control over time "thinking time", I remember we always had to be talking to someone or writing in work book when we weren't in raps and when we were just thinking we were told to "stop isolating and to get out of our heads".

I could relate to everything there.

Chow for now.

It's as if the program was written based on that. In AA they say you should admit that you lost power over your drinking, and also that you shouldn't control people. But in AARC you're supposed to admit every day that you are powerless over everything no matter what. Your rewarded by earning steps, privalges, approval and hugs if you act the way they want you to. Your punished if you act like your real self. They critique every portion and every second of your life, or commend it if it's what they want. And what Jessica said about "In Your Head". Taking time to sit and think is considered bad. Your not allowed. Must be busy all the time to the point where you don't even realize it anymore.

From my own personal experience of having been through Behavioral Modification Centers (Straight Inc.), been around the rooms (AA and NA), worked through the 12 steps with a sponsor, stayed clean for 4 years, and all this happy stepcraft bull crap. I can say this.

(1) Forced recovery never works
(2) The 12 steps are a tool to force change
(3) The rewards given, (priveledges, hugs etc) are manipulation tactics to do the work on the steps and deep seed the brainwashing.
(4) When a person wants to change something about their life, they will do so when they want to (not when someone else wants it)
(5) When they talk about "powerlessness", this is the beginning of the brainwash technique. Here is where a person believes themself to be broken and abnormal.
(6) Being forced by family into a "Behavorial Modification Center" caused feelings of distrust and abandonment. I still hold deep seeded resentments towards my family.
(7) Just because a person chooses to drink or whatever, it does not mean they are not a responsible or productive member of society.

Choose to live life to the fullest, you only get one shot at it. Don't allow stepcraft or using for that matter control your life. The situations in life do not make us who we are, we make our situations in life.
