A'yup! They still doing Grand Old Flag? (waving hand in air in time to the 'music') Anyone else ever sing "Grand Old Fag", especially when certain staff were leading rap?
How about these:
- "Red Red Robin"
- Soft Shoe (Tea for Two; that one goes all the way back to Art Barker and The Seed)
- The Elephant Show (Skinnamarinkydinkydink, skinnamarinkydoo, I Love you)
- Little Bunny Foo Foo
- The Cat Came Back
- Allice the Camel
- 15 Miles on the Erie Canal
- I am Straight, Hear Me Roar (Helen Ready's I Am Woman)
- lots of others, anyone recall them offhand? I bet there's a list somewhere on one or more of these forums.
And yes, I agree that the purpose has always been to humiliate and infantilize us. Same for the beltlooping or arm holding, constant survielance, needing permisison to speak, sit, stand... whatever, the goofy clothes and hairstyles and lots of other suble and not so subtle cult practices.
People who haven't been through it themselves have a hard time understanding this. And cult supporters rely heavily on this fact to obfuscate what's going on. But a person can take almost anything being done to them under protest if they're allowed to protest. What really cuts into one's soul and sense of self is being compelled to do the damage to oneself. The first time you gave in and started flapping your arms like a seagul on acid, that was probably the very moment when you took the first step toward erasing yourself.
I know that our bodies were made to thrive only in pure air, and the scenes in which pure air is found.
