An Irish Ghost Story

----- This story happened a while ago in Dublin ,
and even though it sounds like an Alfred Hitchcock tale, its true!!!!!

John Bradford, a Dublin University student, was on the side of the road
hitchhiking on a very dark night and in the midst of a big storm.

The night was rolling on and no car went by. The storm was so strong he
could hardly see a few feet ahead of him. Suddenly, he saw a car slowly

coming towards him and stopped. John, desperate for shelter and
without thinking about it, got into the car and closed the door.. only to
realise there was nobody behind the wheel and the engine wasn't on!!
The car started moving slowly. John looked at the road ahead and saw
a curve approaching. Scared, he started to pray, begging for his life.
Then, just before the car hit the curve, a hand appeared through the
window and turned the wheel. John, paralysed with terror, watched as
the hand repeatedly came through the window, but never touched or harmed
him.

Shortly thereafter John saw the lights of a pub appear down the road,
so, gathering strength, he jumped out of the car and ran to it. Wet
and out of breath, he rushed inside and started telling everybody about
the horrible experience he had just had.

A silence enveloped the pub when everybody realised he was crying
and....wasn't drunk.

Suddenly, the door opened, and two other people walked in from the
stormy night. They, like John, were also soaked and out of breath.
Looking around, and seeing John Bradford sobbing at the bar, one
said to the other...

"Look Paddy.....there's that f*king idiot that got in the car
while we were pushing it!!

Outstanding, TAC
Have you ever seen Fantasia?
it too is entrancing.  Best viewed on a big screen, in a 'theater-like' atmosphere...  add your own frills   ::seg::

I think I was probably the only kid in existence who didn't like Fantasia, and I saw it on the big screen in the 70s. I made myself sit down and watch it again when I was in college, and came to the same conclusion. If the story doesn't captivate me, I don't care how good the animation is. Fantasia was groundbreaking, but for some reason, it really taxed my attention span. I know, I'm nuts.

This brought back some good memories just cuz of stuff that was going on when this came out.  Don't really care for the song but I love the part around 3:15 of the vid where Teddy kicks the door down and is playing while bullets are flying all around.  ::seg::  I hate Ted's politics but DAMN he can play.

Why do Jack Blades and Tommy Shaw (it is Tommy Shaw, right?) look so damn ghey?!  Is it the haircuts?

That's hysterical!!  Okay...who was in my house doing storyboards?!
 ::seg::  ::haloslips::  ::bwahaha::  ::bwahaha2::

I have a kitty question.
I know there are a few cat owners in here...
I have two.  They are not related.  They both play laser-tag.
Both seem to 'lose sight' of the little red dot sometimes, then 'pick it up' again a few inches (or feet) away.
Has anyone else noticed any 'tracking' issues with their cats when playing tag?

My cat does that too. Or, she'll seem like she loses interest and just looks away of her own volition. I think it's normal.

The only vision problems I've noticed is right after I hold her down and shine the laser directly into her eyes. That makes her a bit loopy.

And no, of course I don't do that. How could you even think I would be capable of such a thing? Shame on you all.  :flame:
